Mac & White. Many moons ago, I liked to shoot black & white film, which was a commitment to an entire roll of film. Now, digital lets you create an edit in both color and black & white. Bonus! This was shot in St. Ignace, Michigan, on a trip back from the UP. 4/26/26.

I did the night version of this photo a few years ago (second photo), so I thought I would add the day version as well. This is a memorial to those who constructed the Mackinac Bridge, connecting Michigan's Lower and Upper Peninsulas. Photographed from St. Ignace's Bridge View Park on 4/26/26.

While rockhounding at F.J. McLain State Park in the Keweenaw Peninsula, the early morning sun appeared and revealed the beauty of the shoreline. I thought this would be a great opportunity for a long exposure, with the smooth, smoky effect of the water and highlighted details of the rocks. The settings: Canon R, EF 40 mm prime, ISO 100, f/16, 30 seconds, with a HOYA ND 800 filter and HOYA CPL filter to dim the sunlight. Hancock, Michigan. 4/26/26.
