Last post of 2024! I’m SO excited to share what I’ve been diligently working on for the last half of the year. Tomorrow, I finally can share my new website with the world! I have been working on it non-stop for months and I feel like I can say for the first time that it truly encapsulates me as an artist and shows the growth within my work. I haven’t had something reflect my business and I as accurately as this does. To see my best work displayed so beautifully fills my heart with pride, gratitude, and all the deep and wonderful memories I’ve created with my clients along the way. I can’t wait to share. Stay tuned, have an amazing new year, and be safe! And don’t drink and drive. ✨🥂

I've been MIA here! My Instagram disconnected from my business page, and I need to reconnect it. But for now, I wanted to post about my holiday mini sessions!

Currently, I'm doing a Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale for my holiday minis this year! This is perfect for updated photos of the kiddos, or cute Christmas photos with your significant other. Even adorable photos of your pets 😂 If booked anytime from now through Monday, it's $50 off and only $150. 🤯 I haven't priced mini sessions this low in a long time, so jump on it while you still can.

This is the set-up this year: ice blue curtains with burgundy gifts. It’s stunning. ✨ Scroll through the photos to see additional details and package inclusions.

This wedding was one for the books! I feel like I've spent the last several years talking to Cyndee about her wedding day, so when the day finally arrived, the excitement was through the roof. And not only did the day go so smoothly, it was literally perfect. Wouldn't have changed a thing. Thank you for having me, Cyndee and Conner. So honored to have been there and captured such an important and lovely day. 💕

Lemme just throw a shout out to the person that makes Christie Q Photography possible. If you've had the opportunity to meet my husband Brandon, you'd discover very quickly that he is the backbone of this business. He keeps me going as I do my best to run things by always providing unconditional support. And let's be real: this job is wild. The situations we find ourselves in are crazy. Whether it's driving my ass across the country, working through insane weather (like literal tornados and floods), pulling long days after long days, dealing with last minute plan changes, and getting 2 hours of sleep after traveling for many hours... This man makes it all happen right by my side. I never thought I'd have this much support for my business, but me as a person. He works so hard to keep my dreams alive and thriving, and he's so consistently and constantly encouraging, even when I'm exhausted and drowning in work.

I have the funnest job in the world--and I rarely complain because I just love what I do so much. But there's a lot of extremely difficult aspects that go on behind the scenes that can really wear me down after a while, but no matter what, he helps me rest, and then helps me back up. I'm so appreciative to him for so many reasons, and this is just another one in the bunch. I hope every client gets to meet Brandon. He's the best and he WILL make all of my client's experience better simply by being there.

He is the reason I can capture love the way I do. 💕

Proposing? 💍 Get a photographer! I promise, it's so worth it.

There's a lot of variables you have to think about when planning a proposal. So many, that it's super helpful to have someone who does this professionally be right beside you the whole way through. My job is to ensure you get spectacular photos AND that the experience for you both is absolutely perfect. Let me do the leg work so you can focus on making it as memorable and personal as possible for your future spouse. I work on the details such as location (unless you have a special one in mind), timing, angles, lighting, weather, back-up plans, your alibi, outfits, and more, then run it through with you so you know exactly what to expect while it stays a complete surprise for them. 😉

I envisioned this shoot for 5 years before I photographed it. It was a long time in the making, which many of my creative shoots are. It's been a couple years now since this project and I still think it's one of the coolest shoots I've done. Who wants to recreate this with me? 🤩

Can't decide between planning a wedding or eloping? I personally eloped, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. But eloping isn't for everyone. Sometimes you just want to throw the funnest party ever surrounded by your family and friends, and that's okay! There's no way to do it wrong. It's a tough choice as it is, so let's narrow down a couple things we shouldn't even consider that will only complicate the choice.

#1: the feelings of others.
We love and care about family and friends, but when it comes to your wedding day, you can respectfully throw their opinions out the window. I know you're scared mom might be mad, and while that's valid, it's keeping you from investing your time and energy into a huge milestone for YOU. This isn't Mom's day. It's yours. And it should be everything you want it to be.

#2: working with the unexpected.
You're going to work with the unexpected whether you plan a wedding or an elopement. I've heard people be very concerned with the unpredictability of an elopement (like the weather during an outdoor elopement, for example). But if you are hiring professional and experienced vendors, they will take good care of you. It's our jobs to work with the unexpected and pivot within the unpredictable. Hiring people who can make every shift as smooth as possible will ultimately impact your overall experience on the special day.

There's a whole lot more to consider and I've taken some time to write a blog about it--check it out to learn more!

Brandon and I FINALLY received some of our long-awaited wedding photos that we have been waiting for since October 2019. I'm so grateful to finally have them--definitely worth the fight to get them, and I will be cherishing these for the rest of my life. These are so special to us and are some of the most sentimental images we took during our entire wedding experience.

We decided to do our wedding vows at my grandmother's cabin, one of my favorite places on earth. I spent a large part of my childhood here, creating memories and stories to carry through my lifetime. This beautiful place holds so much magic and nostalgia for me, and I feel a reverence there unlike anything else. To bring these two things that I love so deeply together will forever be one of my best moments. I am so grateful to have these photos of us. 🤍

I've never seen so much color at a wedding and it was just absolutely stunning. This fun wedding was a two day event, and there were so many events within events. I learned so much! None of this could have happened without such an incredible couple, and the amazing team they put together for their wedding day.

These cuties 🥹 Forever remembering this Washington backyard wedding. It was perfect. ✨

Our home remodel is well under way, and we are in the midst of the chaos. We have ripped apart everything downstairs and we're just trying to make do! haha We are without our kitchen, living room, laundry room, dining room, and closet storage. It's a little cramped, but I'm excited to get this going and even more excited to get this done. Our families really came together to help, and we couldn't be more appreciative. Especially Brandon's parents, who worked day in and day out along side us. We couldn't have done honestly ANYTHING without them. If you want to follow along on the remodel journey, it will be in my story off and on. 🙌🏻
