Sound up for soothing night sounds as thin, wispy clouds pass in front of the eclipsing moon last night. This was about a half hour before maximum eclipse. Also check out the wave shapes in the clouds - I think there was a dragon in there, too.

Lunar eclipse over the Memorial Bridge and behind the North Church when it hit 96% obscured. Make sure you watch the video at the end with the sound up. The wispy clouds passing in front of the moon were so neat. A couple waves and a dragon in there.

Adventure day to the Kancamagus Highway and Sabbaday Falls on Saturday. It was a gloomy afternoon/evening but the sky still put on a show, including a moment of clearing that took the shape of a heart.

After the storm...

There's always something unexpected to see in Portland. There was a small schooner parade through Casco Bay at golden hour which was a really neat surprise; I loved the way the sun hit the sails. The clouds offshore from another decaying storm on the Midcoast was also beautiful above Ram Island Light. At the end of this set was twilight over Portland (including a thunderstorm's anvil from the Canadian border) from Bug Light Park.

POV: You're about to experience the Storm of the Summer in Southern Maine. The Greater Portland area saw hail up to an inch in diameter and wind gusts of 60-80 MPH. Lots of damage, especially in South Portland and Cape Elizabeth. Even the Portland Jetport lost power for a few hours.

The backside of the storm from Ferry Beach was beautiful.

A little behind the scenes and shelf cloud timelapse then a clip of driving in this severe storm that blew through the Portland area this afternoon. I saw marble-sized hail and there were reports of one-inch hail and a gust in Cape Elizabeth of 80 mph.
