Ben + Gavin + spring at the Arnold Arboretum 🌾
I’ve known Ben all my life, and we’ve shared many an interest in books and movies and shows and nerdy interests as we navigated our way through school, up until graduating high school in 2018. It was one of those friendships you knew was special, but maybe didn’t realize you missed as much as you did until the distance was already in place.
We reunited this weekend after 8 years apart (an insane amount of time to think about), and it was crazy to realize how we are literally new people, and yet some things never change. I missed it. ♡ Picking right back up with the latest updates in our shows, while making space for the new things, like meeting his wonderful partner Gavin.
Gavin is such a sweetie, and so similar to my partner Logan who joined us too! They both started a little on the quiet side as me and Ben yapped, but as we got to know one another, it was so lovely to see him open up and learn more about his interests (crazy talented baker) and how connected he is with his family. Gavin is also half Filipino! My mind was blown learning that, because it’s not often you meet someone who might be in the same boat as you with your heritage.
Learning about how Ben and Gavin’s paths crossed was so incredibly sweet, and I feel like these photos truly showcase the love that they share with one another, and how excited they are to be building a life together.
I’m eternally grateful for the pebbles and pathways that have led me to so many great people over the course of a lifetime, and I’m looking forward to seeing how they pave the way for new pebbles and pathways of connection (and reconnection). ❤️
