NEW PHOTOGS: SAVE THIS!!!
So many times we shoot for free to grow our portfolios, but the truth is there is so much trade that can happen outside of shooting, posing, and editing experience!
If I were starting over today, here’s what I’d do:
1️⃣ REQUEST A REVIEW
when starting there isn’t much trust with you, so in order to build that and bring confidence to others to begin booking they want to see reviews. You need to show experience, ability, and professionalism! Reviews will SET YOU APART & help you truly establish yourself as a professional quickly!
2️⃣ FEEDBACK FORM
if you truly want to see your blind spots & get better, encourage (and honestly require) the to fill out a feedback form BEFORE receiving their gallery! Ask questions like:
* how did you feel prior, during, and after our session?
* what’s one thing I could do better next time?
* what was your favorite part of the session?
* how would you describe your experience with me in 1 word? (Great for future marketing copy!)
* how do you feel during posing?
* ETC!!!
3️⃣ record BTS
I cannot stress enough HOW IMPORTANT this is! It not only helps you grow when seeing yourself back and seeing things you could shift— but it’s incredible content to share for people to see how you work and get excited to work for you! It draws ideal clients in!
4️⃣ require story collabs & posts
This is probably one of the most important. You want to offer free sessions to people who you would love to work with & reflect you! Their community sees it, and it gets your name out automatically! Your work is like a referral on spot.
5️⃣ record a day in the life
Content is key for growth, let your personality shine and truly have fun! Looking back you’ll love these videos & so will your little slice of the internet.
Utilize these 5 things & I cannot wait to celebrate your growth 🎉
