Johnny's Emergency Vehicle Shots

Johnny's Emergency Vehicle Shots As a kid I always borrowed my dad's camera and I loved to take pictures. I've been involved in fire and EMS ever since while taking pictures along the way.

When I became a volunteer firefighter in 1991 it ignited a love of emergency vehicle photography.

The first engine I ever got to ride as a firefighter was a 1978 Hahn from Citizens' Hose Company in Smyrna DE. Ever since then Hahn has had a special place in my heart. Here are a few Hahn engines from the recent DVFA parade in Dover. I remember when the one from Hartly was still in service.

Some of my favorite trucks are heavy rescues. This beautiful white and blue beastly truck is one of my favorite New Castle County trucks. Rescue 14 from Cranston Heights is one of the few heavy rescues left in NCC Delaware. Brandon H you're gonna have to give me a tour so I can get some better pics some time soon!

Today we visited a couple of fire stations in Cherry Hill NJ. The crews there were some of the most friendly welcoming firefighters we have ever had the pleasure of visiting. The crew at Rescue Ladder 13 took time out of their cooking to give us a tour and meet their very friendly dog. The guys at Ladder 14 showed us their museum and antique engine. I believe they said it was a 1927 Chevrolet. Isaac got to add two more patches to his growing patch collection also. Not bad for a rainy Saturday just hanging out in New Jersey. Thank you guys!

Station 43 (Cheswold) had a rescue drill on Saturday. Kent County Spec Ops 1, Station 44 (Smyrna) and Station 53 (Leipsic) got to join in on the fun too. Delaware State Fire School instructors were there as well. Thanks to the auxiliary from 43 for cooking lunch. The mac-n-cheese was wonderful! Thanks to McKinney's Towing for letting us use your yard and vehicles.
