I love seeing Cardinals in the Iowa woods. We don't see these beautiful birds where I live in Sidney, Nebraska. Always a treat to capture one in the camera lens.

Happy Arbor Day! It’s always struck me a little funny that Nebraska is the birthplace of Arbor Day… and yet we’re not exactly overflowing with trees. Today feels like a good reminder to appreciate the trees we do have, and maybe even plant a few more for the next generation to enjoy.

Over the weekend, I had the chance to photograph this burrowing owl. As incredible as these little birds are, this image also tells another story. The dry ground and brittle vegetation are a reminder of just how badly we need rain right now. Praying for some relief soon.

Got another one! On Saturday I photographed my first Northern Shoveler by Broadwater, Nebraska. Today I grabbed this shot of one at Oliver Reservoir by Kimball. Such a vibrant duck species!

Moto Monday! 🏁📸 When you see me trackside with my camera, don’t be surprised if you end up with a whole sequence of shots. As a former motocross racer, I know how fast things happen out there, and I treat my shutter button a lot like a throttle… wide open! Capturing the action, the intensity, and those split-second moments is what makes shooting these races so much fun. These shots are from last year’s PNCC Potter 120

Checked a new one off the list today, my first photos of a Northern Shoveler! That unmistakable oversized bill paired with those bold blue tones makes this puddle duck a real showstopper.
