Hanging out on my ring this morning like the gem that she is. 💎

This will be my first personal spider that I have raised from a hatchling. She has already developed a good bond with me. Sometimes it’s hard to find time to hold them when there’s so much to do. I decided that my morning time which is time that I give myself to do whatever work I can do while sitting, I’ll bring a spider to sit with me at my desk or wherever I am. Eventually they want to be held especially when they see that you’re sitting & not moving around. It’s a great way to start my day. 💜

Some quick announcements :

💜 It’s been too hot to ship spiders so I have taken them off of my store page temporarily. Shipping prices can change so much in a weeks time & I don’t want to bug you guys for more money ever. It’s a hassle so I’m taking a break to focus on the babies for a little bit.

💜 I have been working on getting enclosures set up for ALL my new spiders that I’ve found over the summer. There are plenty of orange & frosty bold & Bryantae babies coming.

💜 I’m going to lower the price of my ‘wild caught’ spiders to $11. This is because with all the specifics, I’d rather just say what my best guess is & find someone who is okay & aware of that & loves the spider anyway. If you want to give them a loving home, that’s what matters most to me. It’s insane how much shipping is so if you’re willing to pay that, I’m not really making anything off of $11. That gives me shipment estimate gap filler on top of covering the costs of the materials used to safely ship the spider.

💜 I only list healthy, social, younger, & non-gravid spiders. I keep them for at least 6 weeks to make sure they aren’t gravid. I only do this if they seem to be mature or even sub-adult females. I keep them if they seem older. If you are wanting a gravid spider you can always request one.

💜 I want to sell these guys fast so they have the maximum amount of time in a home possible. You can always message me if you experience any issues with your spider. You have my lifetime support. ♡

💜 Most of the funds I have made from Eight by Kate have gone back into my spiders. I appreciate all the beautiful people who love spiders. 🫶🏻

This is one of the babies from Azalea's first clutch that I am keeping. She was #3 🤍 She was the whitest one out of all of them. Super gorgeous & always has been super healthy. She is going to be my next hybrid momma once she's old enough. I'm super excited to list the boys once I find them. I have been waiting for my spiders to get a little older to make sure I am confident in what gender they are. The boys from the clutch will not be black, they will be light grey to gray-brown & tan. Most of them all seem to have green chels. They will look different from most boy spiders & I'm excited about that.

Right now I'm trying to come up with name ideas for this beautiful girl. 🤍 Suggestions?

Juniper laid her 2nd clutch conveniently inside her little acorn hide! I was able to sn**ch it up today & replace it with another empty one. She was very ready to eat. She looks very fluffy.
Meanwhile, Jade almost picked the most inconvenient place to lay hers when she has a perfect hide that I hand made for her that's chilling out empty in the back. 😂

I have been marking all the babies that I move into cups to keep track of who their momma is. I'm super excited to see what they turn out like! I am going to make an album on here of all the mommas so if you get one that was captive hatched, you can see what their momma looked like. 💜

She LOVES her hide! She definitely is feeling loved. This is Althea - broken pedipalp momma! If she's not inside her hide, she's sitting on a wooden step, observing. She's absolutely the sweetest. 🖤

Look at this handsome male Bryantae Audax! He is a little frosty. His chels are a gorgeous blue green ombre that has such a pretty iridescent shimmer.

He is approximately an i8/i9; subadult/mature male. This dood will be listed on my store page as #4.

I've been changing up my organization & flow of things to figure out the best order & method for everything. I started a rotation where I replace their cups with new cups to keep them from getting too dirty. I then take all those cups & clean them out really well with safe materials used away from the spiders. I rip out their cotton pad & replace it with a new one. I didn't know if the cotton pads were that necessary but they have helped with the humidity levels as well as preventing any spiders from getting too close to the edge while closing the lid. The pad acts like a bumper that keeps them securely inside whenever I'm trying to get that seal to click on.

I will have plenty more boy spiders coming up that will be handsome Bryantae's. I believe most of them are! I have so many babies to separate. It's been so hot that I have not been wanting to encourage any sales until the weather is more reliable.

I finally nailed down a name for the broken pedipalp mom : Althea. It's Greek for healing or healer.

I love how bright & white their spots seem to get after they've been cared for well for a while. Her other pedipalp has fully recovered & she is able to use it normally. She just kind of holds her other one in a stiff position. She was still able to take on a mealworm to munch on in her new home that I got her moved into.

The mealworm next door caught her attention so I moved it into her house for her. She hadn't tried to eat the mealworm that had been in there with her for 30 minutes but as soon as I did the swap, she went after it. It must have looked appetizing.

She is such a sweetheart. She stared around inside before she let herself explore. I cannot wait for her to lay a clutch inside that hide. 💜

When all the babies of all the mommas you saved over the summer all hatch at once. 😅Juniper laid her 2nd clutch too. 🙃🥰
