Wood storks aren't the bird most people come to Brunswick County hoping to find, but they're one of the most fascinating.
With a wingspan of more than five feet, they soar effortlessly on rising warm air, barely flapping as they travel between feeding areas.
They may not have the bright colors of some coastal birds, but there's something unmistakable about them once you see one gliding overhead.
