Southern Illinois

Oh hey there! This is us , Me (Sarah) and my three wild, creative, silly girls. Meet Bryleigh, Whinry, and Ruby. Often times during a shoot you will meet one or all of us. Photography has been a passion of mine since I could remember, and I was so lucky to start crafting my art at the early age of 15. I decided to pursue photography full time after my oldest was born. In the last 20 years I have b

een lucky enough to photograph over 1000 newborns and families as well as hundreds of weddings and high school seniors. My background in art includes my hobbies of interior design , wedding planning, cake decorating, painting, and building furniture. I enjoy making one-of-a-kind sets for my sessions and am always excited about the newest creative outlet where I can put my craft to the test.

The rain almost ruined this session from happening but the colds parted and a couple sweet girls, one funny little boy and the most gorgeous parents.. ( not to mention I remember when this momma was born) got to frolic in the flowers for the prettiest of family sessions.

Everyone talks about the groom’s first look.

The moment he sees her for the first time.

But what about everyone else?

The children peering through a window, eager to see someone they love dressed like a princess.

The grandparents watching years of memories come rushing back.

The sisters, best friends, aunts, cousins, mentors, and chosen family holding back tears as they see someone they’ve loved and supported step into a new chapter.

And then, finally, the husband-to-be.

The first look isn’t always about the dress.

It’s about the people who see her and remember every version of her they’ve ever known:

The little girl.

The friend.

The granddaughter.

The sister.

The person they love.

These aren’t always the moments people plan for, but they’re often the ones that tell the deepest story.

Some babies make you work for every pose... and then there's this little guy. 🥹💙
I think I may have gotten the sleepiest newborn ever! From the moment he drifted off, he let me gently pose, squish, and snuggle him into all the sweetest setups without a single complaint.
No extra rocking. No negotiations. No strong opinions. Just cozy newborn dreams and the cutest squishy cheeks. ☁️✨
These sleepy sessions are always a little magical because they allow us to capture all those tiny details that change so quickly—the curled-up poses, the sleepy smiles, the little fingers and toes.
Mom and Dad, you definitely won the newborn lottery with this sweet boy. ❤️
Swipe through and try not to fall in love with those squishy cheeks—I dare you. 🥰

The gallery is up! 🎉
And can we just take a moment to talk about this mama? She might be one of the most patient moms I've ever photographed. ❤️

( because somehow I made a huge mistake and put her date wrong leaving her to wait at the studio for far far too long)

What started as a sweet birthday session quickly turned into a cuddle session, a dance party, and an intense game of peekaboo. And honestly? Those unexpected moments are often my favorite.
Kids (and apparently myself) don't always follow the plan, and that's okay. Some of the most genuine smiles, biggest laughs, and sweetest connections happen when we stop chasing perfection and simply let them be little.
Thank you for trusting me to capture all the giggles, snuggles, twirls, and birthday magic. Your album is officially ready, and I can't wait for you to relive these memories. ✨
Happy birthday to the sweetest little one—and a huge shoutout to the most patient mama for making every moment feel fun. 💕📸

“Private vows”
There is something incredibly beautiful about standing in front of everyone you love and promising forever.

But there is also something equally beautiful about keeping part of that promise just between the two of you.

More and more couples are choosing to exchange private vows before their ceremony, creating a quiet moment away from the crowd while still honoring the traditions that matter most to them. It isn’t about replacing the ceremony—it’s about adding something deeply personal to the day.

For some couples, the public ceremony remains rooted in family traditions, faith, or values. They still want to share their commitment in front of their guests. But private vows give them the freedom to say the things that might feel too vulnerable, too emotional, or too intimate for a room full of people.

The promises that make your voice shake.

The stories that only the two of you understand.

The words that aren’t meant for anyone else.

On this wedding day, that private moment became even more meaningful.

Rain had other plans.

Timelines shifted. Locations changed. Every forecast update seemed to bring a new challenge. The carefully planned schedule looked completely different by the hour as everyone worked to adjust around the weather.

But before the skies opened up again, they found a moment.

Standing back-to-back on the porch, hands intertwined, hearts racing, they read the words they had written for one another. No audience. No expectations. Just two people pausing in the middle of a chaotic day to remember why they were there in the first place.

And somehow, that moment felt even more powerful because of everything happening around them.

The weather couldn’t stop it.

The timeline couldn’t rush it.

The stress couldn’t take it away.

For a few minutes, the world became quiet.

Their vow books weren’t just details to photograph. They became keepsakes filled with promises, memories, and the beginning of a marriage. Years from now, long after the flowers have wilted and the cake has been eaten, those handwritten words will remain.

A reminder of a rainy wedding day.

A reminder of choosing each other despite the unexpected.

A reminder that while plans may change, the reason you’re standing there never does.

And maybe that’s the real beauty of private vows.

They create space for couples to slow down, breathe, and be fully present with one another before the celebration begins.

Because at the end of the day, a wedding isn’t about perfect weather.

It’s about the promises that endure long after the storm passes. 🤍

“Associate shooting and second shooting alongside Raylyn has honestly brought me back to life after stepping away from weddings for a while. ❤️

There’s something so refreshing about showing up, creating, and falling back in love with the art without carrying the full weight of the day on your shoulders.

The best part? Getting to work beside someone I photographed weddings with nearly 8 years ago. It’s been so much fun comparing galleries afterward and seeing how differently we each tell the same story. Same moments, same couple, completely different perspectives. That’s one of the things I love most about photography—no two artists see a wedding the same way.

So thankful for the opportunity to create, collaborate, and rediscover the joy that made me fall in love with weddings in the first place. ✨”

One day those little hands won’t reach for dad’s boots to fill.
One day they won’t wanna “be just like daddy” anymore.
Right now it’s muddy shoes, oversized hats, shaving cream messes, tool belts, fishing poles, work boots, and tiny copies of the people they look up to most. And honestly? That stage goes way too fast.
These sessions aren’t really about the props.
They’re about preserving the way your child looks at their dad right now. Like he hung the moon.
“Be Like Daddy” Sessions are officially open — and I would really love to photograph a few dads who normally stay behind the camera.
Because years from now, these are the photos your kids will hold onto hardest. ❤️
Limited spots available before Father’s Day. Message me for the booking link. ( and if we can get daddy to come in and play along that be awesome )
