Ta-da! I've joined the comet photography club! On October 15, 2024, in Arizona, I clicked my first comet pic using my astro rig, despite some objects in my scope view that required some cropping.

The nitty-gritty: ASIair 294 MC, ZWO asiair plus, ASI120MINI, 30F4 Mini Guide Scope, William Optics Redcat 71, ZWO AM3 harmonic mount.

Image specs: 20 lights @ 60 secs, 10 darks, 30 flats, 30 bias. Pixinsight and PS did the magic. 🫶🏼☄️

📍Grand Canyon, National Park⁣

One of my bucket list as a night photographer have always been to photograph the Milky Way or night sky from the North rim (since I’ve done the south rim)⁣

This isn’t a composite photo, but it is a blend of the sky and the foreground. The brightness on the horizon is Williams and Tusayan, AZ. The light pollution bounces off the clouds, making it look like it’s a sunset. And I really liked how the Milky Way is just peaking behind the clouds. ⁣

I was a bit disappointed of how bright the lights look in the horizon. Maybe to capture early in the season would be better, with less light pollution.⁣

The foreground was shot for 120 seconds to capture as much light as possible.⁣
The sky was shot at 30 seconds with 16 mm lens.⁣

I just got back from the NightScaper Conference in Kanab, Utah. This was an amazing event organized by National Parks at night. I highly recommend this conference to anyone who has a passion for night photography. Until 2026!

📍Kanab, Utah⁣

I finally visited this cool place. We got to watch one amazing sunset and beautiful stars with some clouds. I think the clouds give it a dramatic look!

This image is a composite because the Milky Way was shot from the observation deck and not at the dunes, however, we couldn’t stay so far out when the park closes early. ⁣

Great afternoon with amazing people who are just as crazy for night photography as I am. ⁣

⁣Sky and foreground are both single exposures.
Foreground shot at blue hour, sky later that night.
