“The Shrine that provides peace to all who enter”
Designed by Marguerite Brunswig Staude in 1932, but wasn’t built until 1956 (because, World War II and such).
Unbeknownst to me at the time, it’s actually built on one of many powerful vortexes in Sedona, AZ. A vortex is believed to be a special spot on the earth where energy is either entering into the earth or projecting out of the earth's plane.
I went in for but a few minutes without that knowledge, and I remember how dramatically different it felt in there. I was happily taking photos outside, and walked in, took a deep breath and became way more present to the peace inside. Could’ve been my churchy upbringing or my open-minded woo woo tendencies as an adult. Either way, nature is neat, and this was a lovely impulse stop during my brief visit to Sedona.
