Witness to a lengthy and poetic murder: It’s the little things, those daily, oft unnoticed little glimpses of wonder that could make all the difference. headed for their ; a daily sojourn.

From hundreds of feet away, she called out to us. Music she offered. Music you could see. Music you could touch and yes, smell. Mary and I tried to pick out the individual notes which were subtle and yet very complex. It was like a blending of witch hazel, it’s clean, bright, hopeful astringency softened by rolling it in baby powder.

It’s not at all like we were besties, but time and again over the years when I would wander into my favorite hat shop, Byrnie Utz, in downtown Seattle it felt like a pilgrimage to Temple des Chapeaux and Jeremy was one of the wise and helpful high priests. I asked him if he’d stand in for one last selfie with me this morning at the Byrnie Utz liquidation sale going on now and tomorrow in a warehouse space in the old Rainier Brewery building. Thank you for all the help, the stories and coaching over the years, good sir. My hat is off to you in admiration and gratitude.

He is a living treasure, a kind soul and a wise, poet warrior.

There are only a few of us here... kinda perfect. But I’m continually blown away by how loud people feel they need to talk, especially with those who have so little of importance to say. This is church. Who talks that loud in a cathedral. Oh yeah., right. Those same people...
