Wild Bergamot (Monarda fistulosa) also known as Bee Balm. Purple to pink tubular flowers, opposite leaved, and rotating 90 degrees up the stem. Popular nectar source for hummingbirds, clearwing (hummingbird) moths, bumblebees, and butterflies. Native to most of the Eastern US, southern Canada, parts of the Great Plains, and parts of the Rockies.

Purple Martin (Progne subis). All of the eastern North American populations of this species are entirely dependent on human made nest boxes for there existence over the past few centuries if not a millenium, care must be taken by humans to avoid nest sites being taken over by introduced house sparrows and european starlings making this species nearly entirely synanthropic.
