It is incredibly challenging when bookings fall through at the last minute.

Because photographers ( and other small businesses) rely on advanced scheduling—often booking out months in advance—holding space for a client means turning down other potential work.

When a cancellation happens just a few weeks out, it unfortunately impacts a small business's livelihood.

While I understand that plans can change, it is crucial for organizers to communicate in a timely manner. Especially when asking a photographer to reserve a few weeks in a spring season to provide flexibility.

Clear, early communication allows us to fill that reserved spot and ensures we can continue offering dedicated service to all clients. Despite my checking in a year in advance, 3 months, and 2 months prior. I have definitely learned a lesson from this experience finding out I was cancelled on not even by the organizer themselves, but from a child 2 weeks out 😞.

Please be professional, please treat all with kindess. We all do our best for our clients treat us that way too.
