Absolutely stunning!! I may be a bit biased since it's the art on my business windows, but this was my favorite mural! NadiiasArtshop did a fantastic job!

If you haven't had the opportunity to venture the Art Festival downtown in Sauk Centre, today is a perfect day to go down and see all of the amazing art! 🖌

We had a BUSY weekend on the homestead! 🌿🍅🥬

For those who may not know, over the past few years my husband and I have been slowly growing our little homestead right alongside my business. So while you normally see me behind the camera capturing all of life's special moments, there's another side of what I love to create — homegrown, homemade goodness straight from our little corner of Minnesota. 🤎

One of the biggest reasons we started doing this was simple: I wanted to provide healthier, more wholesome options for our family AND our community.

Sweet treats, fresh-baked goodies, garden favorites and pantry staples made with ingredients you can actually recognize — without all the unnecessary chemicals, artificial ingredients and fillers. Just good food made as close to the original, natural source as we can get it. 🌱

And this year, we went BIG. 😂

🥬 We planted cabbage in bulk with one goal in mind: an overabundance of homemade sauerkraut — because what kind of Stearns County homestead would we be without a good ol' batch of kraut?!

🍅 We loaded up on tomatoes for homemade spaghetti sauces, salsas, condiments and more.

🥒 And, of course, plenty of zucchini for my freshly milled zucchini breads & muffins AND our spiced zucchini butter — aka "mock apple butter." 🤤

This weekend was our first BIG preservation weekend of the season, and we ended it with...

🍝 5+ quarts of homemade spaghetti sauce
🍎 21 pints of spiced zucchini butter
🥬 108 POUNDS of cabbage cleaned, shredded, pounded and officially fermenting its way into sauerkraut!

There is something incredibly satisfying about watching a tiny seed turn into food that can feed our family and community long after the garden season is over. 🤎

I'll have some of our homestead goodies available to purchase — assuming our little October baby doesn't decide she'd rather make an early appearance and change Mom's plans. 😂🩷

From photography sessions to freshly baked bread and jars of garden goodness... apparently I have decided I simply do not know how to have just one hobby. 😆🌿

Something fun is brewing at The Bavarian Gardens in New Munich! 🎃🌿

We’re putting together our Fall Festival this September, and we’re looking for local vendors, makers, bakers, boutiques, artists, growers, and small businesses who would love to join us!

📍 The Bavarian Gardens | New Munich, MN
🍁 Friday, September 25 | 1–8 PM
🍁 Saturday, September 26 | 9 AM–3 PM

We’re hoping to fill the gardens with a fun variety of vendors and create the kind of fall event where you can grab a treat, wander through the gardens, shop small, find something unique, and just enjoy a beautiful Minnesota fall day. 🤎

Vendor spaces are just $25/day or $40 for BOTH days!

✨ Calling on my community for a little help restocking the studio! ✨

After the building fire back in May, I unfortunately lost nearly everything I had collected over the last decade for my photography business — including years and years worth of props, seasonal décor, backdrops, setups for events, and all those random little treasures that photographers somehow accumulate over time. 🥺

As I slowly start rebuilding my inventory, I figured I would reach out here before buying everything new!

If you're cleaning out closets, downsizing your holiday décor, garage-sale-ing, or just have things collecting dust that you don't want anymore, I would LOVE to take a look! I'm happy to take donations, or purchase items you're selling inexpensively. 🤍

I'm currently searching for:

🎄 Artificial Christmas trees — all sizes
🍂 Christmas & fall garland
🎃 Faux pumpkins & faux fall plants/florals
🌿 Faux greenery garlands
🕯️ Candlestick holders — brass, metal, glass, vintage, mismatched… I love it all!
✨ Plate chargers — gold, green, red/burgundy, silver, pastels, etc.
🖼️ Old/vintage picture frames — **no glass or backing needed!**
🪵 Wood boxes/crates
🤍 White sheer curtains or large pieces of white sheer fabric

Basically, if it looks like something I could turn into a photography set, or something I can use to decorate when hosting business events, there's a pretty good chance I'm interested. 😂

So before you toss it, donate it, or send it off to the thrift store, feel free to send me a photo! Even if you're not sure whether it's something I could use.

Rebuilding ten years worth of collected inventory is going to take some time, but I'm excited to start creating beautiful things again. 🤍

Homestead Life is booming over here! Today's canning consisted of 10 quarts of dill pickle spears from yesterday's harvest, and today's harvest will be keeping us busy in the kitchen!

The most dangerous part of being a photographer while pregnant with your first baby girl after a decade of being a boy mom?

It's not carrying camera gear.
It's not wedding season.
It's not editing until 2 a.m.

It's the amount of online shopping that happens while Lightroom decides to take its sweet time exporting a wedding gallery. 😂

Every progress bar costs me at least one baby outfit... and somehow the algorithm always knows exactly what I "need." 🎀💸

Tonight there was a call made about the building in Sauk Centre, that my studio is in that had caught fire back in May.

You can about imagine the heart attack I had when they said the building collapsed!

So, I ventured out there to see for myself.

Thankfully, the building did not collapse, but rather just the awning and parapet of the portion that you see in the second photo, had fallen down. Fortunately, no one was hurt, but for anyone walking or driving by, I'd imagine the sight of anything coming off the front of a building would be alarming! They inspected the inside of the building and are just doing cleanup on the part that made a mess outside, and for now, our historic building is still structurally standing!
