Well, it never fails to happen. Not just with motorcycles but with all vehicles I have when I deep dive into a fix. At 80,000 miles on my 2020 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Special, I decided to upgrade the lifters, oil pump and cam plate. During the work, it was discovered that my cam is damaged and also needs to be replaced.
The desire to ride gets turned up to 10 when your motorcycle is out of commission. I should have her back up and running by the end of next week.
Silver lining, I probably saved myself from a catastrophic engine failure during a road trip.
Here’s to another 80,000 miles ahead.
