What an incredible night kicking off the Santee Summer Concert Series this past Thursday! 🤠✨
The Pistol Blonde absolutely rocked the stage with some amazing country hits, and having CBS 8 News there to cover the excitement made it even better! But the real showstopper? That spectacular Open Sky Drone Light Show right after the music—the very first one in East County history! 🎇🛸 It was the perfect way to start celebrating America's 250th.
If you missed it, don't worry—the fun is just getting started. Live music will be happening every Thursday through August 13th (except July 2nd). Next up on June 18th is Journeymen (a tribute to Journey)! 🎸
⚠️ Quick heads-up for anyone heading out in the coming weeks: Because of construction on the new Santee Community Center, the YMCA footbridge is closed and YMCA parking is limited. Definitely try to carpool or park over at Santana High School!

What an incredible weekend! 🏰✨ Yesterday was the perfect final day for the 3-day Santee Knights Renaissance Fair. The weather was beautiful, the atmosphere was packed with excitement, and it was so wonderful to see so many local families out enjoying the fun. As you can see from the photos, the kids were having an absolute blast running around and laughing—exactly what a community event should be about!
This massive fundraiser wouldn't have been possible without an amazing team. A huge thank you to:
The City of Santee for plowing the fields and getting the massive 23-acre site ready at the old historic barn on Magnolia Avenue.
The Kiwanis Club of Santee for hosting and organizing this giant undertaking.
Dean from Dino’s Pub East for setting the stages, managing the DJ booth, bringing the pop-up bar, and running around keeping everything moving!
All the vendors, workers, and volunteers who handled everything from setup to teardown, making sure everyone was safe and keeping the parking lot moving.
It was a true joy to see our community come together like this. To everyone who has shared feedback online: your voices have been heard! We hope to bring this back next year and tweak a few things, including looking into structuring the parking into separate free and preferred paid lots.

Hear ye, hear ye! 👑✨
What an absolutely spectacular day in Santee! I had the pleasure of shooting for the East County Community Times today at the Santee Summer Knights Medieval Festival, and the turnout was incredible!
The weather could not have been more beautiful, and the historic barn grounds were packed with smiling faces, amazing costumes, and so much wonderful family fun and entertainment. From live jousting to hands-on activities for the kids, it truly felt like stepping back in time. 🏰🛡️
Best of all, this fantastic event is a fundraiser hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Santee, meaning all the fun is supporting a wonderful cause that gives right back to our local youth, family, and senior programs.

Hear ye, hear ye! 👑✨
Yesterday, I had the distinct privilege of photographing a truly spectacular event for the East County Community Times right here in our own backyard. If you haven't been down to the historic Santee Barn on Magnolia Ave yet, you are missing out on something magical!
The brand-new "Santee Summer Knights" Medieval Festival officially kicked off last night with an incredible, exclusive adults-only dinner and ball with the Queen. A huge, heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who came out last night! It was wonderful seeing so many friendly faces, and getting to capture the atmosphere on these historic 23 acres as day turned to night was an absolute joy. It honestly felt so good to step back into the 15th century and escape today’s reality, even if just for a little while.
