Hello friends!
As some of you know, I have been fighting health issues again. Unfortunately, this time the journey is significantly tougher. It's not unbeatable, but it is taking all of our efforts - both mine and Cyndi’s. So, after 17 years of creating family, school and senior portraits, we have decided that it's time to shut down Tim Sutton Photography.
I have to say that it has been an honor. We have had the distinct pleasure of working with so many amazing families. I cannot describe the feeling when we walk into someone's home and see our work hanging on their walls, or how I feel when someone walks up to me and tells me how much a portrait we created means to them, no matter how many years later. That is what has made it all worthwhile.
However, with the battle we are fighting, neither of us have the time or energy to continue working full-time AND operating the business to the level and standard that we insist on, and quite frankly, you have come to expect. So, we'll keep the phone number for a while longer, and check the voicemail periodically, and you can always reach us via email or PM through FB. However, we won't be booking any new sessions. As a matter of fact, the last shoot I did, and it was one of the greatest honors of my career, was Stephanie's (our youngest daughter) senior portraits. But now, the gear is for sale and our days of shooting professionally are done.
As you can imagine, after all of these years, we have collected a vast amount of negatives and digital files. I'm embarrassed to say that due to a couple of hard drive failures, we don't have every image we ever created, so please learn from my mistake. Hard drive failure CAN (and will) happen to you! Anyway, being that more and more services are readily available to retail customers, we'd like to make these resources available to you now, before we disconnect the phone and shut down the email account. Files available include virtually any portrait work we created, including high school seniors, families and school pictures. There is time involved in finding them in the archives, making disks, etc., so we will be asking for a modest fee to transfer these images. Please call Cyndi to discuss. But please understand, this fee is mostly to cover the time associated in finding the files in the stacks of hard-drives. And frankly, it'll help a little bit toward our growing medical bills, so thank you! If you would like to purchase the files, we will include everything we can, including the raw files and re-touched images when available. Most importantly, we'll include a copyright release, allowing you to LEGALLY reproduce the images in any way you choose. Without this letter, reproducing a professional photographer's work is a federal offense and the labs should be double checking. This letter will ensure that it's a smooth process for you.
So, let me say thank you for the many memories you have allowed us to be a part of, and for the images you have put your trust in us to create. It has been an honor.
To inquire about purchasing images, please email [email protected]. Please include
• Your name
• The name of the person(s) whose pictures were taken
• The year the pictures were taken
• Your contact info….email and phone is great.
Please feel free to share this with anyone you know who has come to us over the years. We will be keeping the hard drives and negatives for a little while, but eventually will be cleaning everything out.
Thank you for all the wonderful years …. from all of us!!
Tim, Cyndi, Jessica and Stephanie
(If you're looking for the Tim Sutton Photography in Signal Hill who shoots (incredibly beautiful) automotive work, that's NOT me. If I understand correctly, he's completely healthy and can be reached at (310) 908-2989 or [email protected]).
