The Weight of Time

I’m honored to share that my work, The Weight of Time, has been selected for the International Photography Exhibition at the 2026 San Diego County Fair in Del Mar.

If you’re visiting the fair this summer, I would love for you to stop by the Photography Exhibition, find my piece, and cast your vote for the People’s Choice Award. ❤️

Lately, I’ve been questioning the boundaries of photography.

This experiment marks a shift toward mixed media — introducing texture, relief, and physical material into the image itself.

I am interested in the moment when a photograph stops being only an image and begins to exist as an object: carrying memory not only through representation, but through surface, weight, and tactility.

This is an early study, but it may become a new direction within my practice.

What happens when a photograph acquires a body?

Some works arrive quietly.
“My Japan” became one of them.

This series was created through reflection on memory, identity, restraint, and inner transformation — inspired not by documentary Japan, but by the emotional image of Japan living in my imagination.

Honored that the work received the Gold Winner award at Tokyo International Foto Awards 2024 and is now part of the TIFA exhibition in Tokyo.

For me, this recognition feels especially meaningful because the project speaks in a very quiet language — through silence, gesture, color, and tension.

A still life that forgot how to stay still.

Flowers breathing.
Light shifting.
Time moving through the frame.

It’s fascinating to study the Impressionists not only with your eyes, but from the inside.
To truly feel their light, color, texture, atmosphere, and emotion.

When you use modern tools to recreate those sensations through photography, you begin to understand the artist differently — their rhythm, emotional state, and way of seeing the world.

Perhaps creativity is also a form of empathy.
A way of looking through another artist’s eyes for a moment and translating those emotions into your own visual language.

Lately, I’ve become more interested not simply in creating images, but in exploring:
how light turns into emotion,
how color begins to speak,
and how photography can slowly become something close to painting.

Is there an artist whose work you would love to experience “from the inside”?

Experiments don’t always work out.
But they always give you something.

Cyanotype isn’t about control —
it’s a dialogue with light.

But that’s where understanding begins.

And honestly — that’s where the joy is.

I’ll keep going.
Keep experimenting.
Keep moving forward.

I’m photographing irises…
but not like a photographer.

I’m trying to see them the way the Impressionists did —
through light, air, and feeling,
not just form.

This isn’t about the flower.
It’s about learning to see differently.

Do you feel the difference?

This work marks a return to an earlier image —
reconsidered through time and distance.

Refined during an Impressionism course at Fine Art School. .school

The figure exists between states —
neither fully present, nor entirely withdrawn.

Not an ending,
but a shift in perception..

From portrait to construction.
From realism to geometry.
From image to symbol.

Styling inspired by avant-garde and constructivism —
where lines build identity
and color creates tension.

Art is structure.
Identity is composition.
