Some (well many) would argue when you see something that makes you feel a certain way, either a unique moment or beautiful scene you should pause and soak it in - undistracted, with all of your attention.

at least for me there’s no greater pain then witnessing something that creates that feeling I can’t capture in medium you can hold on to to remember the way a place or moment made me feel — and this was almost one of those times — driving around the shore of Lake Yellowstone at sunset, with my wife and boys laughing in the backseat of the car, the Wyoming sky lighting up pink and orange for the lakes reflection to soak in; really can’t imagine a better place to be.

when a brief chance to stop on the road came, I caught this image w/one hand out of the driver side window, no viewfinder, hoping it’d somewhat do the moment justice. while it won’t hit the cover of Nat Geo, every time I see it, it will always bring back one of those special nights you can’t replicate 🌅
