March 21-24; we spent 4 days traveling to Sacramento. We are making a series of video for Tribal Community Coordinating Center (TCCC) focusing on youth advocacy in commercial to***co prevention.
We interviewed tribal youth and program directors on smoke/to***co free policy initiatives. The events had youth learning about current commercial to***co prevention efforts and building advocacy skills by sharing their local work with legislators. Youth are also advocating for traditional to***co protection and understanding.

Thank you to our production crew 🎥

I was invited to be the keynote speaker at the Indigenous Stories Film Festival. The paths collided perfectly with Condor Visual Media’s 6 year anniversary. It was full circle considering that the event was hosted by Indian Health Council, with whom I was involved with initiating some home grown video productions back in 2017-2019 as the social media specialist.

I was honored by the Generation Indigenous team with a beautiful medallion created by Kimimilasbeadwork

More importantly we watched a film that focused on Elder/Youth conversations that featured two Los Coyotes citizens, Evonne Candace Carlson and daughter Theah Mejia, an aspiring actress. Good job on your film. And thank you to those from Los Coyotes who came out to support.

Thank you Indian Health Council for recognizing our dedication.

Celebrating 6 Years!

Thank you to our family, friends and collaborators for your continued support.

We honor the creator and our ancestors who passed down the gift of creativity, ingenuity and resilience.

We look forward to a future that continues tradition, elevates voices, and protects nature. A future that protects the sacred.

Condor Visual Media. A digital media archive for future generations.
Founded and operated by Andrew James Pittman & Lisset Valencia-Pittman on August 1st, 2019. Condor Visual Media LLC, a digital video and photo production company, is dedicated to serving 18 sovereign Tribal Nations in San Diego and beyond. Our mission is to inspire, strengthen, and promote healthy relationships through the sharing of stories. Andrew, a proud member of the Los Coyotes Tribal Nation in Warner Springs, partners with his wife Lisset to bring forth their extensive expertise in content creation, spanning over ten years. We collaborate to document historical events, preserve oral history, and develop educational materials for diverse audiences.
Given the historical underrepresentation of our people in digital media, it is crucial to reclaim dormant information while creating meaningful and accurate portrayals. Our goal is to guide future generations in continuing the legacy of our intricate heritages.
Condor Visual Media stands as a brand that excels in unique digital storytelling, showcasing a deep understanding of culture and a meticulous attention to detail. We believe that your story matters, and we invite you to join us in documenting your truth.

Traveled to San Jose, CA for the CCUIH’s Rising Together Event.

“Urban Indian Health partners invite community, survivors of violence, and advocates to a closed, cultural space to share their stories of hope, healing, and resilience. We hope to gather community input for future Rising Together materials as we aim to address all forms of violence in Native communities through
a community-driven approach.” -CCUIH

2/28/25 and 3/1/25

Two day production with the CSA team. Such a beautiful place and it’s was nice to see familiar faces during the event and making new connections.

“Join the Alliance and our partners on March 1st to celebrate the plants’ Chiipam Hap (Spring Awakening) at the Sweetwater Marsh Unit of the San Diego Bay National Wildlife Refuge.
This is a special opportunity to get involved in habitat restoration, explore interactive signage from our “Hear Our Names” project, learn through cultural demonstrations, and be a part of our 10th Birthday Celebrations.” -Climate Science Alliance

*2/22/25*

It is an honor to share space with numerous artists, cultural bearers, historians, and community members in the “Fire Kinship” exhibit.
MAATHAAW is featured twice with two clips from the film.

“Prior to the colonization of Southern California in the 18th century, Native communities throughout the region used controlled fire practices to ensure the vitality of their local ecosystems. The Fowler’s current exhibition, “Fire Kinship: Southern California Native Ecology and Art,” presents a living history that centers the expertise of Tongva, Cahuilla, Luiseño, and Kumeyaay communities and reintroduces fire as a generative element, one that connects us to our past and offers a collective path toward a sustainable future.

Co-curators Daisy Ocampo Diaz (Caxcan) and Lina Tejeda (Pomo)

Don’t miss “Fire Kinship” on view through July 13.” -Fowler Museum

A 24 ft. tule reed boat was constructed during the Indigenous Ocean Day event at the Birch Aquarium. The successful creation was facilitated by Dr. Stan Rodriguez, Raymond Martinez, Hwaa and Colin Richard with support from various event attendees. Ha Kwaiyo or tule boats are a traditional watercraft used by Kumeyaay people of the region known today as San Diego. The Birch Aquarium and UCSD were built on Kumeyaay land known as Mat Kulaahuuy, land of caves.

Indigenous Ocean Day was held on November 23, 2024. The event was well attended. Participants were able to see a variety of booths, play traditional games, and build tule boats.

5 Years ago! Condor Visual Media documented this renaming ceremony at the University of San Diego. "A celebration of renaming Mission Crossroads as Mata’yuum Crossroads. In the Kumeyaay language, Mata’yuum means “gathering place.” This renaming honors USD's location in the traditional territory of the Kumeyaay Nation and further supports its ongoing tribal initiatives to create a more inclusive campus."

On Oct. 14, 2019, the University of San Diego celebrated the renaming of Mission Crossroads to Mata’yuum Crossroads. In the Kumeyaay language, Mata’yuum mean...

The beginning of fall has been busy. Today we filmed another craft class at Pala. Last week we were up on Palomar with the Pauma Forestry crew. Sometime before we checked out the opening of Oceans Unseen at Birch aquarium which features a short documentary on tule boats we made and I submitted two grants🤞. We are actively looking for new video collaborations so connect with us today.
