It’s a New Year. I don’t normally make resolutions because I don’t like setting goals that I feel like I can’t achieve or that will feel more like a burden than an improvement. However, this is one that I think I can do.

My goal is to love myself more. To achieve this I’ve created 3 areas of focus for myself and one of them is Self Portraits. In 2022, there are almost no pictures of me and what I did or what I was up to. When reflecting on why that might be I realized a big contributor was my own self hatred and feeling uncomfortable with not just what I look like but who I am. On TikTok, I saw a photographer do self portraits once a month to teach herself to love the way she looked so I’ve decided to try. Each month will be a different portrait focusing on a different character trait that I like about myself.

My boy loves to stick his nose in wet grass and came up with dewdrops on his nose. Did you know dogs can possess up to 300 million olfactory receptors in their nose? 😱They are constantly gaining so much information through their sense of smell and I wish Jack could tell me how the same grass lawn changes every day to him. 🏕🐕

I know this page has been all but abandoned for the last 7 months and while that was not my intention I do want to start posting here again. However, rather than promote it as a business I’ll keep doing what I do best which is using my art to share things that I’m passionate about and as a release for myself. I’m working at my dream job for a dream company and living my best life here in California and while that doesn’t leave a lot of time to do art the way I used to I still make things that help me express myself, tell my story, and cope with the world around me. I hope anyone still following will still find joy on my page and if you’re ever interested in a piece just DM to ask about it :)

Black witches butter is a jelly fungus that is common on rotting wood because it usually feeds on decaying matter. A jelly fungus refers to the texture which often feels gelatinous or rubbery.
