There’s something beautiful about the father/son relationship. You never quite know the specifics of a particular bond, but you just know it’s enjoyable to watch a dad witnessing his son take on a whole new facet of manhood and carrying on the legacy. That’s why I love this shot of Josh and his dad Joey. The laughter came easy and often on this special day. I didn’t even think about the technicality of the composition. It made sense in my mind’s eye, I felt the joy of the moment, and closed the shutter.

It’s all about the little moments, the details that make up the day. This Greenwood wedding was absolutely beautiful, and it featured two of my favorites. I shared some incredible moments with Rodney and Gracia on their wedding day. I absolutely love this shot of Gracia silhouetted against a gorgeous backdrop. While I consider myself a documentarian when it comes to the big day it’s equally as important to understand that wedding photography is a fine art. Achieving the look a bride and groom desires is the most important aspect of the day. I want my clients elated with their wedding day memories. Moments exist all throughout the day and some of those moments are more powerful than others. Great photography is a fine art all about capturing those powerful moments, in an already incredibly significant day. I love this image of Gabby because it conveys a very important time spent with her closest friends and that time will forever be contained within this particular capture. So true story... I was trying to find a sweet vantage point for some good sunset shots and was planning on heading back right after. I saw a couple of photographers up on an incline with an incredible view. They'd been shooting in Colorado for years and it was a beautiful thing to be able to share that space and talk shop the whole time. They invited me up to share the space with them and get some night shots. Between the two of them, they had over 50 years experience shooting landscapes. John was using a Giga Pan which I'd actually never seen before. It was an incredible experience and I'm glad I got to share the space. Enjoy beautiful Colorado .

It’s about that joy in the moment, after the vows are said, tears are spilled, and the realization hits that you have forever to live with the love of your life. I love the documenting process of those happy moments and I think you can see that in Amber’s joy here as we were walking the streets of downtown San Antonio. Such a special moment and I’m glad I could capture it.

I truly love all photography but sometimes I lose touch with myself as just doing it for the joy. I’ve been so wrapped up in everything else that sometimes I forget to stop and enjoy a sunset. I’ve always wanted to photograph McLane Stadium since it was built on the Baylor campus, but stadium pictures can be boring. I wanted to be a little more unique with it.
