Great article (link in comments) on ways to back up your images and safe guard from the many ways they can be lost. Save them in multiple places (and not just within your home). PRINT them!!

backing up my files...what would you lose if you haven't backed up recently?

TIP #1: don't store all of them in one place (just keeping a back up in your home won't help if you have a fire or robbery).

TIP #2: Dvds and cd can scratch or warp so it is best not rely on them as your only backup.
