Rudolph Valentino in costume for the 1922 black and white, silent film, 'The Young Rajah'. The jacket was made of assuit, a fabrication originating in Turkey of thin strips of metal embroidered onto a mesh material. I've added color, pearls and some hand painting. The newest challenge is to use a silver/gold pen to simulate the metal in the light areas of the jacket. See a short video in the comments. Thank you for watching.

Lillie Langtry was a British socialite, stage actress and producer. Judge Roy Bean of West Texas fell in love with her simply based on posters. Bean never met Lillie Langtry and she never saw the town and saloon named in her honor until 10 months after Judge Roy Bean's death in 1903. I love this sensitive pose and chose pale pink to compliment her red hair. Note the shimmer on her gown in the video in the comments.

My art show continues until October 13 at Cappy's Restaurant in San Antonio. Shown here with me are two of my favorites, Evelyn Brent on the left as Cleopatra and Rose Dolores on the right in a stunning gown by Lucile. There are 23 pieces in the show which must be seen in person to fully appreciate the handwork on the surface of each print. I'll post videos in the comments.
