"Smokies Colors"
Newfound Gap, Great Smoky Mountains National Park
Sunrise this Morning, October 16, 2026

The colors are starting to move down from the tops of the mountains now. Above 4000 ft, the golds are really starting to pop. Overall the colors are a little drab or brownish this year due to the heat and general drought, but under the right light, the mountains look spectacular around sunrise and sunset. Thanks for looking!

For Father's Day Weekend we went for a hike on the Art Loeb Trail across Black Balsam K**b along the Blue Ridge Parkway and Balsam Mountains in NC. It was a ton of fun with the kids! The sunset just kept going and changing, so I thought I would show you its progession with the post. Please let me know which image you like the most! Have a great day!
