It has arrived!

Welcome home to my newest book - an ARC (advanced reading copy) of Philip Fracassi's "Traps and Specters" ! It's Christmas in July! And opening this box brought about all those feelings of giddiness I had as a child sitting next to the Christmas tree and opening gifts. Just pure happiness! Sometimes it's the littlest of things that bring on the biggest smiles. Thank you to Philip Fracassi for not only the book, but for being an exceptional writer, and for just being a really cool (and nice) dude.

I spent a good portion of the last three months staring at this face. Mostly in photos, once in person. I really enjoyed drawing his portrait. My reference photo was his photo on the back cover of his books, and the cover of his novel "Sarafina," which is a great book. I recommend it.

I finally got out to the bird refuge this morning and drove the new, yet temporary, auto loop. Positively identified 40 ...

I finally got out to the bird refuge this morning and drove the new, yet temporary, auto loop. Positively identified 40 different species, including a Bobolink, which is a new bird to be checked off in my bird book! Also, I got to watch the Ruddy Duck courtship, which I've never seen before. What a great day!
