This past weekend I got to be a part of .bymeg workshop she put on. It was so fun to connect with other photographers while getting to photograph different couples and families.

It starts quietly. A mirror. A fan in her hand. Her eyes peering over it at me.

Buttoned jackets. Nervous laughter.

Then vows. Deep breaths. Hands finding each other.

And suddenly the dance floor is full and no one wants the night to end.

A wedding day is not just one big moment. It is a hundred small ones stitched together.

This is what I’m photographing all day. Not just how it looked, but how it felt.

Sisters walking hand in hand, pink dresses catching the evening light, and a loyal pup never far behind. These are the moments that make up childhood. The everyday togetherness that feels so normal while you’re living it.

These photos aren’t about perfect smiles or posed moments. They’re about remembering this season exactly as it was. The laughter, the closeness, the ones who were always there.

This is why I do what I do.
Because one day, these images will tell the story for them.

Family photos are more than just staring at the camera and smiling. Sure you might do a little of that at a session, but it’s so much more. It’s remembering those moments of the first grandchild in the family, helping out on the farm, the waiting on the arrival of new babies in the family and so on.

Photos are a way to look back and remember the season of life you were in. As we (hopefully sooner than later) move into the warmer weather, think about creating these memories for your family and allowing me to come alongside to photograph it for you. It can be as simple as playing games and baking in your home, to working on the farm or in the garden together.

There’s so many ways to capture what your family loves doing together and I would absolutely love to help you remember that forever. 🤍

There’s something so special about photographing families. The way little ones run wild, the way parents look at them with so much love, and the way everyone settles into being themselves once we get going.
These three kept us moving the entire time, but honestly, that’s where the magic lives!

🫶🏻Some stories are tender and brave all at once. Heather and her three kiddos met me for a session that was full of joy, with little moments of remembering their sweet Madi woven throughout. Madi was born on October 20, 2017 and passed on November 30, 2017 due to a congenital heart defect.

You will see a teddy in some of the photos that matches her exact weight, and you will also notice heart hands to honor her story. It felt like she was right there with them.

Heather is not only a beautiful mama but also a friend. I have photographed her family for years and even captured her daughter’s senior photos.

I’ve been lucky to walk alongside her from the time I moved to Colorado in 2020 all the way to now, even after moving back across the country to Ohio. Whenever we’re together, we pick right back up where we left off, like no time has passed at all.

This session was fun, meaningful, and such a beautiful reminder of the love that continues. I am truly honored to capture it. ❤️
