East of Argos, IN on Friday, June 5th.

On its way to the East coast for the 250th celebration!

Twenty-five Big Boys were commissioned exclusively for Union Pacific Railroad, the first of which was delivered in 1941. These massive locomotives were built to haul heavy equipment in support of the war effort, normally operating between Ogden, Utah, and Cheyenne, Wyoming. The Big Boys are 133 feet long and weigh 1.2 million pounds.

Union Pacific No. 4014 is the world's largest and only operating "Big Boy" steam locomotive. Built by the American Locomotive Company (ALCO) in 1941, it weighs 1.2 million pounds and produces roughly 7,000 horsepower. It is currently on a historic, cross-country coast-to-coast tour to celebrate America's 250th anniversary.
