Oh, the memories. ☀️💦🍉
I remember summer being so special when I was a kid. Later bedtimes after being outside all day long. My dad would often bring us out back after dinner and hand us a big ‘ol slice of watermelon, coaching us how to separate the seeds with our tongues and shoot them into the grass. It was always a contest who could spit the farthest (such little ladies, we were 🫣).
We’d check every day after to see if our hopeful little seeds had sprouted new melons, but were always met with disappointment (our dad did mow the yard after all).
I hope these memories stick with our own kiddos. The sticky hands, sitting in the grass, fighting off the bugs. Those few minutes spent with each other, mouths too busy to bicker over whose piece is bigger. 😁
