I had the pleasure of taking engagement photos for Kayla & James on Saturday. They are a relaxed, casual and goofy couple and were so easy to photograph. Oh…did I mention Kayla is my niece.

A stylized photo shoot with a photography meet up group. It was great to be behind the camera again, I have missed it!!

Life has had a way of preventing me from actively taking photos, but I hope this will be the first of many more photos.

I read this amazing blog post and I welled up with tears at the message being said.

Our vanity is no longer enough of a reason to avoid the camera. Life doesn’t wait until you “get thin” enough to capture it. Life is happening . . . it is happening right now and the only moment we are guaranteed is the one we are living. I shudder at the thought of leaving behind no pictures of my life with ME in it."

I know I am guilty of these exact feelings and to be perfectly honest I am feeling them right now. As most of you know, my son is getting married and I am dress shopping. The thought of being "chubby" in his wedding photos frankly scares me; forever captured in my chubby self.

What this post reminded me of is to remember it is about family, memories and NOT weight and that tomorrow is a gift.

My first Clickin' Adventure of 2013 ~ Enjoy!

Where in the world did 2012 go? Each year it seems to go by faster and faster. When I was younger, much younger, I recall hearing my Mom, Aunts and Uncles say this each year and not understanding what they were talking about; I wanted the year to move faster so I could grow up…oh silly me.
