What an incredible day yesterday was!

CIEF: Construction Industry Education Foundation Foundation put on an amazing event for 17 high schools across the greater California State University, Sacramento.

Today was the culmination of 10 weeks of learning and work to get a taste of what it's like to collaborate and create in the .

Our team at Oak Ridge High School won a Best Presentation award!! While we didn't win the overall cup, our students were thrilled to come away with something despite being the smallest team.

After the event, they returned to their hometown for an interview with the local press. Can't wait to see the published article next month.

So proud and excited for these Oak Ridge High School students!

We are in the final stretch for the CIEF: Construction Industry Education Foundation CREATE competition that is on Tuesday!

Today our team did a practice presentation to our El Dorado Hills Community Services District and they loved the idea! They've asked our team to come back and present to their entire board.

We are the smallest team amongst the 24 other high schools they are competing against, but we are mighty! Wish us luck!

Let there be color!

This woman came to me for a headshot to match her company look but also added on a second portrait to be used for speaking engagements and her own personal branding for her career.

First I followed the look for the headshot that she provided me and the competitive artist in me worked hard to surpass the example. I love a good challenge!

Then we went through several different poses to find the one that really spoke to her leadership, expertise, and innovative qualities.

Lastly, I played around with the background colors to be similar to her company colors and that also speaks to her let's-make-it-happen energy. She's a rising star for sure.

My digitally compiled group portraits are becoming more popular. And why not?

- Everyone gets their favorite portrait of themselves included (because you know how hard it is to get everyone looking perfect in a group portrait).
- AND, you can easily add and remove people as your team evolves, without having to gather everyone together again for a new portrait.

Win-win!

I overlaid the group onto a stock background image to more clearly communicate these are realtors and the types of homes they help their customers buy or sell.

What I immediately saw from this group is how down-to-earth and friendly they all were. And I can personally attest to how the owner, Callie Mirsky, knows my town very well, was a delight to work with and helped us to find the perfect home for my family.
