If you’re in Arkansas you definitely want to know what these flowers are! They are natural wild blackberry plants🤤! If you’ve never eaten wild blackberries then you don’t know what you’re missing! Once you try one, the stores blackberries will never be appeasing again. Just ask my toddler.

Growing up in poverty my mom would wait until late may/early June to go pick some. We’d bring them in smush them up and pour sugar and mix with milk. The best sweet treat! Now we anticipate their arrival to make the best blackberry jam I’ve ever had.

Did you know that mother flamingos actually lose some of their pink color while raising their chicks? 🦩💗 That stunning color comes from the nutrients in their food — and when they feed their little ones, they give so much of themselves that their own brightness fades.

I think that’s such a beautiful reminder of motherhood. Sometimes we pour so much of ourselves into our children that we forget how radiant we really are. But just like flamingos, with time and care, our color comes back. ✨

To all the mommas out there — your love is seen, even in the moments when you feel faded.

Update: the stew pot is still empty… for now. 🐿️ This little acrobat is out here auditioning for Cirque du Squirrel, and I’m just the lucky one behind the camera. Nature’s comedy show never disappoints.

There’s really something peaceful about just watching wildlife do its thing.
I’ve probably saved this squirrel’s life more than once—convincing my husband he’s better off in the trees than in a stew pot. 😅🐿️
