Pierre Carrillo Photography I thrive in fast-paced creative environments, and take pride in balancing my risk-taking, get-it-done scrappiness with high quality, highly refined results.

After pushing my body to its limit in the circus for almost a decade, I pivoted my mission and returned to school, graduating from UC Berkeley with an expanded technical toolkit. I reshaped my creative interests and physical grit into a career in the digital space, building a video production practice from the ground up at Roofstock, then going on to lead the social media team at Golden 1. I am pa

ssionate about telling families' stories through film and pictures. Life is a journey of resilience, and our efforts deserve to be honored beyond our time. Commemorating the labor, struggles, values, and legacy that shape a family is at the heart of my work, driven by my belief that every story is worth preserving. When children understand their roots and the legacy they inherit, they are more inspired to carry their family's story forward.

I recently had the opportunity to capture the story of the first ever HURLING club in Sacramento.

It was inspiring to see a group of people come together around an obscure sport and quietly build something that could compete with the clubs in San Francisco.

Special thanks to Sacramento Kavanagh's GAA. Check out their page to learn about how to join the club.

Thanks to .j.kim_ for coproducing the film with me.

Alex and I made this music video last year and I never shared it here. She covers "Good Time Charlie's Got the Blues" by Danny O'Keefe (1972).

Shot with the Canon R6 Mkii.

I recently had the pleasure of photographing for a local wheel manufacturer, capturing headshots, product shots, behind-the-scenes action, and some creative tire arrangements. After a full day on the factory floor, I came home covered in grease and dirt but with a memory card full of pristine images. I had a blast learning about the wheel manufacturing process and photographing some of the biggest tires I’ve ever seen. Always stoked to work with an American-made brand right here in the Sacramento area!

I created this mini-documentary to explore how my perspective on having children has changed over the years. I hope this sentiment will resonate with some of you.

Here’s to carrying our families into the future!

Chapter 3 of Rob Colyn's story is out now!

This chapter begins in the immediate aftermath of World War II, as Rob resumes his interrupted education and is finally reunited with his parents after years of separation. Rob describes the internment camps in which his parents were held during the war and details the hardships they endured.

As political tensions escalated in the "Dutch East Indies", Rob was conscripted into the Dutch military and deployed in opposition to the young revolutionaries in the Indonesian National Revolution who were armed by Japanese forces on their departure from the islands. The chapter concludes with his eventual return to the Netherlands, marking the end of yet another turbulent and formative chapter in his life.
