I was born and raised in the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Western Wyoming where I developed an immense love of nature and wildlife. Together with my husband we have been blessed to live in Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, Kansas, Germany, and now Northwest Arkansas with our 4 children. Through all our travels, my love for the unique beauty that nature has to offer, in its various forms and in diverse locations, has only intensified. I've dedicated myself to finding the unscripted beauty in the world around us, no matter where I am. I believe in unscripted beauty and realistic natural art. What creative artistic licenses I take with my work is done in the camera with minimal altering or editing done in post processing. There is a unique beauty in the unscripted and unedited. Did you know that if you have a big mushroom 🍄 in your yard and it rains- it will OOZE the water through its pores??
I didn’t- until this morning! 😱
I showed Rose and she said “That’s SO COOL!”

Did you also know that if you ignore said mushroom 🍄‍🟫 long enough- it will also grow grass through it’s pores? Yeah- I just learned that too! That grass blade is growing through the mushroom pore!!

That’s how I’m spending my morning- getting close and personal with an oozing mushroom with my macro lens. 😂

It’s almost time again!! The temperatures have finally dropped enough here in Rogers, Arkansas that I can start photographing all the flowers I have had sitting in my freezer all summer long! This is one of the last frozen flowers I was able to capture before temperatures got too high that it melts the ice too fast.

I submerge fresh flowers in distilled water and freeze them slowly in stages to lock in those raw, organic ice textures. Sunlight streams through this piece, highlighting every petal and bubble encased around a delicate pink chrysanthemum.

The heat may have caused our flowers to wither and fade, but thankfully they have remained intact enough to be a respite...

The heat may have caused our flowers to wither and fade, but thankfully they have remained intact enough to be a respite for our thirsty visitors. Finding a new perspective. Instead of a traditional direct close-up macro, I wanted to play with the relationship between the focused cluster and the surrounding soft, layered bokeh of these Aster flowers. The evening sun provided the perfect diffuse light to make those pale lavender petals sing against the deep greens and muted browns.

I had a great time this week spending the evening at Peel Museum & Botanical Garden at the Storytelling Through Photography workshop with Scotti Moody
I’m still working through my photos but I came across this one today and it made me wish I could sit in that chair every evening in these cooler temperatures we’ve had the last few days.

If you haven’t visited the museum lately, I highly recommend a visit. The grounds are still beautiful!

I haven’t been able to do much photography lately. Our house is still in disarray from getting our windows replaced. We are still waiting on getting the trimwork finished so I can’t put anything back in place. So it’s chaos inside. I struggle with creativity in chaos.

And I’m still enjoying the art! I put a lot of my favorite pieces as background screens on my watch and phone. So every hour it cycles through a different photo from florals, frozen flowers, landscapes and abstracts. So if you ever see my screens- those are my photographs! 😉

I love them. Especially this one of Navarre beach in Florida. The ONLY drawback is that it makes seeing the date on my watch face difficult because it blends right in with the waves! 😂

But it’s an excellent reminder of taking moments to be calm and still. so every time I look at my watch or my phone, I have the reminders!

Guess who came to visit?

I was minding my own business doing some macro work on some purple passionflowers in my yard today, when i was surprised with not one but TWO photo bombers!
That was a nice surprise! 😳
