Today in my stories, I am quizzing you guys about my story on how I started my business and it has me thinking all sorts of things and feeling all the emotions.
😭
Two years ago I never would have imagined that I would be working for myself, doing what I love, and more than DOUBLING my salary. A lot of really hard work has created this business and it hasn't always been easy.
💻
So I thought today I would share with you a few things I have learned along the way...
1️⃣ There will be slow seasons, where you will feel "less than", but this is where you grow. Dig in, do research, create, make a plan, build up your customer experience, work on new strategies and rest. Use the slow seasons to become better and to appreciate the busy seasons.
2️⃣ Stop comparing yourself to others. Support other's successes and surround yourself with community that builds you up. I promise it's better to be in community, then to not, and I am just now figuring that out (two years in).
3️⃣ You can't do it all (at least not all at once). I am driven by ideas and goals and I love to start new projects (such as a podcast - HA!). I have SO many business ideas written down that I want to dig into but I know I can't do them all right now. When you're first getting started, I encourage you to find your WHY and your PURPOSE and FOCUS in on one or two things.
4️⃣ It's ok to need help. Hire a CPA or an assistant, hire a babysitter, ask your significant other for help or ideas, swap babysitting days with a friend (you watch their kids one day and vise versa), reach out for advise, ask for feedback from your customers. It's ok to need help, and you certainly should ask for it. This has been one of the biggest things for my success.
5️⃣ Things won't always be perfect. Timing won't be great, launches may not be as big as you'd hoped, and oversights will happen. Jump in with both feet and just go scared anyway. Give it your all and learn from your mistakes, because that's how you GROW.
🙌🏻
Just go for it!
