Rochester! I actually miss The Night Market so much. Do you? An article recently said the night market "petered out" due to "lack of traffic", if you were there, you know this isn't true. 15,000 people showed up, we had 87 vendors and closed down civic center. It was the dream.

We ate, we drank boba tea, we danced as a community.

Join Tiffany and Sean of TIFFANY✨πŸ₯Ÿ for an immersive, hands-on JiaoZiοΌˆι€ƒε­οΌ‰dumpling class focused on making everything completely from scratch at Caphin Minneapolis Minneapolis - Linden Hills Location, a beautiful and very delicious coffee shop on 10/22 THU 6-8pm.

Guests will learn the full process of dumpling-making β€” from kneading fresh dough, to rolling dumpling wrappers, making juice-bursting pork and cabbage dumpling fillings, mastering classic folding techniques, and cooking dumplings to perfection two ways. The class emphasizes thoughtfully sourced, high-quality ingredients β€” including local producers whenever possible β€” to ensure deeply flavorful, well-balanced dumplings.

After learning the fundamentals, guests will practice rolling out wrappers, folding and shaping their own dumplings with guided instruction to refine technique and build confidence. After folding, we’ll enjoy boiled and pan-fried dumplings we’ve made with dipping sauces and two side dishes, while discussing the cultural context and traditions behind each step. Guests will leave with a full belly, a recipe card and a new skill they can repeat over and over again.

Tiffany Alexandria is a Taiwanese chef based in the U.S., exploring her roots through food. Dumplings were the first dish she learned to make at four years old, and remain central to how she preserves and shares Taiwanese culture.

My first Hibachi experience in America was a blast at Jenpachi Japanese Steak House. I truly didn't expect how much entertainment I was going to get out of a lunch.

Hibachi is called Tepanyaki in Taiwan and it's a style of cooking I've always loved though the style of food and experience is very different here.

From a young age I've always loved food and learning about how food is made, what better way to be entertained and learn than to sit front row in front of a giant grill?

Jenpachi has been a Rochester staple for 23 years. A regular loved their fried rice and teriyaki chicken so much he bought the restaurant from the original owner then Amber, who's one of the OG employee of Jenpachi took over the ownership because she wants to continue to eat their delicious food and share with more people.

What's really beautiful about hibachi is that the ingredients have nowhere to hide. Everything is prepared fresh on the spot, nothing is from a bag so the quality of the ingredients really matters- and you can taste it!

The sauces at Jenpachi are all made in-house using the same recipe as they did 23 years ago. My favorite was the ginger sauce- it has a really good balance of salty, sweet, umami depth and very gingery. You can get 16oz tubs of it to go for your own parties!

Genuinely surprised by how charred the fried rice was. There is a flavor that is very unique you can't recreate without a hibachi grill on high heat and fire.
