Lost in the Infinite ✨

In the celestial theater, where the sun and moon entwine in a mesmerizing ballet, we find ourselves lost in the vast expanse of infinity. As the moon's shadow envelops the sun in a fleeting embrace, time seems to stand still, offering a glimpse into the eternal dance of the cosmos.

In this moment of cosmic convergence, we are reminded of the profound words of Rumi, the 13th-century Persian poet whose verses echo through the ages:
'Dance when you're broken open.
Dance if you've torn the bandage off.
Dance in the middle of the fighting.
Dance in your blood.
Dance when you're perfectly free.'

Just as the celestial bodies move in harmonious rhythm across the sky, so too do we find solace and freedom in the boundless expanse of the universe. It is in moments like these, when we witness the majesty of a total solar eclipse, that we are drawn closer to the infinite mysteries that lie beyond the veil of our understanding.

This is a composite image I made by collecting all the different stages of the eclipse into one photo taken during totality of the solar eclipse. I took the "artistic" liberty to arrange the different frames in a pleasing manner that encapsulated my vision for the awe inspiring moment.

Enjoying some solitude on a foggy autumn morning with a small scene from the woods of western New York. The fog spread across the woods helped isolate some colorful foliage while the thick tree barks stood like sentinels, guarding the autumn trees.

Very excited and grateful to share this!
My portfolio, "Shape of Water' has secured fifth place in the Natural Landscape Photography Awards 2021.
In this portfolio I take a look at some usual landscapes from unusual vantage points. All the images in this portfolio were captured with an aerial camera (drone). The change in point of view gives a completely new perspective to these landscapes. The portfolio focuses on the relationship between land and water; and the way the water molds the ordinary landscape. In the birds’ eye view of these landscapes, the fine details on the surface of the water and land meld together leaving behind simple yet colorful shapes, curves and patterns. Hence, the images have an almost abstract look to them. Hopefully, the abstract nature of the images will challenge one’s power of imagination.

"A symphony of Autumn", Acadia National Park, ME

The word symphony finds its origin in Latin "sun" meaning "together" and "phōnē" meaning "sound". Different notes of sound or music on their own may be just noise, but the the way they come can together in a specific way to create a harmony, is what we call a "symphony".

I came across this small scene while I was on a small trail in Acadia National Park. Theses were just a bunch of fallen leaves on top of a muddy puddle on the side of the trail. Leaves just like some individual notes of music. However, it was the way, the harmony, the leaves came together, along with the reflected bare trees in the background that created this tranquil symphony in my mind.

Achromatic twilight
A small scene from the forests of upstate New York.
Spring season and its flowers are usually celebrated for their vivid and bright colors, but I wanted to showcase this particular scene not for the flowers, but for the lone tree with its leafy branch hanging low to the ground. The tree was hardly the center of attention with the richly colored carpet of bluebells. However with the black and white processing, I tried to do justice to the beautifully shaped branch and tent-like and crisp green leaves. The soft glow of light around the leaves felt like watching the twilight sky in a dense and dark forest.
