โจ Fall Update & Recovery Journey โจ
Hello everyone, and happy fall! ๐
I wanted to take a moment to share an update on my recovery journey. Itโs been two months since the car accident, and the road back to full health has been both challenging and humbling.
This weekend was my first time attempting light house chores again. Due to the lingering effects of trauma, my heart rate still runs high โ often between 95 and 120 โ so I take frequent breaks. When it elevates, I pause and focus on calming exercises and cognitive activities to bring it back down.
One of my biggest recovery tools has been working on jigsaw puzzles to rebuild focus and problem-solving skills. What once took me several weeks to complete now takes just about a week โ a big step forward! Iโm so grateful for the guidance and care of Dr. Baader and Dr. Karen Baader, along with the Metabolic Bootcamp methods and at-home therapies that have supported my progress.
There are still challenges โ things like cooking and cleaning take much longer than before. For example, making a simple homemade pizza can now take two to three hours. Bright light remains difficult as well, so outdoor time is limited and screen time is carefully managed. Even watching a movie requires frequent breaks, but learning to adapt has been part of the healing process.
Iโm deeply thankful for everyoneโs continued prayers, messages, and encouragement. Most of all, I thank the Lord for His strength, faithfulness, and healing grace through this entire journey.
This weekend is an especially meaningful milestone โ Iโll be attending Sunday service for the first time since the accident. ๐
Thank you all for your ongoing support, love, and patience as I continue to heal and regain balance in both life and creativity. Every small victory brings me one step closer to returning behind the camera.
With gratitude and faith,
