A little taste from the last mix we did. Can’t get this song out of my head! Up next is an alternative/hard rock track and several country and Americana tracks.

Whatever our clients are creating, we are capturing it with analog warmth and stunning clarity.

Flag Day 2026 and in honor of the upcoming 250th birthday of the United States of America we are flying a Betsy Ross flag.

Not sure why I look angry - I was actually having a blast working on the mix for a really fun song.

Things that last - great songs, great sounds, and great....mic cables?

Peak Creative's owner/engineer/producer shares a few thoughts on 30+ years of making music and highlights his ONLY piece of studio equipment that remains from when he first started doing professional music production ~ 30 years ago.

From that story, Matt draws a comparison to making music that will sound amazing for years to come by paying a little extra attention to the little details that matter.

One of my happy places…. Getting ready for an evening of work in the studio.

Tracking drums earlier today with one of my students.

Wait - you didn’t know that I offer 1 on 1 and small group audio engineering/music production lessons?

Well now you do. Get your hands on some world class gear, learn from an experienced professional, and work on some great music - maybe even YOUR OWN music!

Making noise in the studio tonight. Lots of sessions this week and just squeezing in a little time to do some preliminary work on an awesome track that I’ll be mixing later in the week for a local artist. This song is a lot of fun and I can’t wait for you to hear it!

Stop making excuses and start making music!

At the risk of sounding like an old man giving a “back in my day” speech… do you realize how incredibly blessed we are to have access to the tools we have today?

Last year, I mixed a song in the woods. Literally 10 ft from the campfire, sitting at a makeshift table with my MacBook, Pro Tools, headphones, and Starlink.

In a few weeks I’m tackling an even more impressive feat, recording a live performance - in the woods. No electricity, and miles away from anything. My MacBook can power this interface, including driving my headphones, cranking out gain to several mics, and providing phantom power. Oh, and I’ll have a lightning fast SSD hard drive powered by the Mac also. If I get low on juice I have a small battery that I can plug in via USB-C to power everything for at least a couple hours more.

Sure, I have better preamps and converters in my studio, and a selection of nice tube mics that I wouldn’t be taking out in the woods, better monitoring, etc…. But the point is that making REAL music is more accessible than ever, with insanely powerful tools in pretty much every budget. You don’t need a big console, expensive mics, pricey software to get started.

I’ve got world class gear and decades of experience and can help you sound amazing - but if your budget or preference would be to start smaller and learn as you go, there really isn’t anything stopping you - except yourself.

Squeezing in a last minute addition to this song before doing final edits and mixing.
