RVA maternity shoot during a heatwave… 🌺💦🔥

I’ve really enjoyed slowing down this summer to allow space for some big changes and new growth in our personal lives. Hubby and I recently moved to a home in the countryside which is allowing us so much more space, peace, and freedom. I’m still servicing the Richmond, VA area and surrounding… still volunteering my love and gifts to local organizations and causes that matter to me. My support groups at Whole Heart Space have been on pause but will resume next month, which I am sooo looking forward to. (They have an amazing, new and improved care fair coming up at the end of the month for all you expecting moms!! Go check it out!)

I’m hosting morning mini sessions with Hot Mama Collective over the next two Sundays and still have a handful of spots left for anyone who wants to beat the heat and capture some summertime memories! Also will be releasing some sunflower mini session dates soon! Stay tuned!

If you’ve been wondering where I’ve been lately… honestly, if I’m not posting, it’s usually because I’m buried in sessions, editing, emails, or some combination of all three. 😅

This month has been especially full. I’m currently on call for an upcoming homebirth while also packing up our house for a move at the end of the month, so there hasn’t been much downtime around here. 😂 Never a dull moment.

Even though I’ve been a little quiet online, I’ve still been creating in the background. I have so many beautiful gallries and sessions waiting to be shared that I’ve reached the point where I’m staring at my camera roll thinking, “Okay, but where do I even start?” 😬

So we’ll start here.

These are a few favorites from our Mother’s Day Mini Sessions at with . The flowers were showing off, the light was perfect, and this sweet family was such a joy to photograph.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out and spent part of their Mother’s Day weekend with us. Not only did we get to document some beautiful memories, but together we were also able to raise money to help support the ongoing care and preservation of Rick’s Garden. 🌿🤍

I’m already looking forward to offering the next mini session marathon with Hot Mama Collective in July, so stay tuned for more on that!

And for my families - my support groups are taking a brief pause while I survive this move, but they’ll be back next month once we’re settled into our new home.

These porch studio sessions have become such a sweet little extension of what I love most about photographing motherhood.

Soft light. Fresh air. Little hands. Baby curls. The way your child looks at you. The weight of them against your chest. The way they settle into you like they’ve always known where they belong.

This space was created for mothers who want photos that feel natural, relaxed, and beautiful without needing to plan every little detail. I’ll help with styling, you’ll have access to my client closet, and all the soft layers, textures, plants, and props are already here.

It’s peaceful, lightly guided, and centered around the real connection between you and your baby.

Porch studio sessions are seasonal and are perfect for maternity, newborn, and sitter sessions.

They are $350, with pay-what-you-can deposits and the option to pay as you can.

A small, soft space for documenting the season of motherhood you’re in right now. 🤍

Riley and his family have definitely changed my life and my perspective for the better. They are the most kind and genuine people I’ve ever met, and I already know they’ll be lifelong friends. So thankful for the imprint they’ve left on my heart. Riley, you are such a bright light. Keep shining.

A lot of this gets carried quietly.

Miscarriage.
Infant or child loss.
Failed fertility treatments.
Infertility that’s more complicated than people understand.

And most of the time, people don’t know what to say…
so you end up holding it on your own.

These circles exist so you don’t have to do that.

Not because it fixes everything.
Not because it suddenly makes it all easier.

But because being in a room with people who get it can change how alone it feels.

You don’t have to share if you don’t want to.
You don’t have to explain your story perfectly.
You don’t have to show up any certain way.

You just have to show up.

Remember friends: purpose isn’t something you find, it’s something you step into ❤️

Connor’s Heroes is a local organization that supports children and families going through pediatric cancer.

These art sessions are a space for the kids to just be kids for a little while — to create, play, and express themselves in the middle of everything they’re facing.

I get to come in and document it, and honestly it’s one of the most meaningful things I’ve been part of.

If you’ve ever thought about volunteering somewhere, this is your sign. There’s so much good happening in places like this.
