As an intention for my 44th birthday back in March (and also after reading Theo of Golden)- I decided I wanted to meet and photograph 44 people in Richmond. No set up, no expectations, just a moment to be seen and a name to be remembered.

I met Tobi, Wonjae and Keiko at Libbie Hill last week. Learned that Tobi has his own DJ business (gonna link it in the comments below)! and that Keiko and Wonjae are adorably in love. So here we go: 1, 2 and 3. 🪶

I have some other ideas connecting to this, but for now, I’m just trusting the process. If you see me out and about, come say hi! 📷

Well, despite my attempts to stay in denial, the senior session inquiries are coming in for this summer and it’s apparently c/o 2027. Which means it’s Ella’s turn. And this is quite impossible because she actually just started kindergarten. I can’t even think about it without crying.

It is the best, hardest, most beautiful thing to witness our kids meet each and every milestone we say “we’re not ready” for. Ready or not, Class of 2027- here we go. 🥺🤯📷✨😩❤️

If you’re interested in booking senior portraits this summer, there’s a link in my biosite link in my profile with more info. I’ve also gotten a few requests for friend group senior photos and I’m HERE for that! (What’s better than one mom crying during your portraits, you ask?? How about FOUR moms crying together during your portraits!)

I’ll bring the Kleenex. ❤️

I’ve been thinking about this a lot recently. Vulnerability is a choice- whether you’re the artist or the subject. And stepping into either is sacred work. ✨

Friends, meet Anastasia. 💜 Her laugh lights up an entire room. She loves bubbles and Miss Rachel and she’s currently in treatment for ALL (acute lymphoblastic leukemia). I could have taken pictures of her ALL DAY.

I had the immense joy of meeting and photographing her (along with eleven other amazing kids) for upcoming Art Ball in a few weeks.

I’m so grateful that I get to call this “work.”

Also, it doesn’t need to be said but I’m going to say it anyway: cancer really really effing sucks. walks with these families through some of the hardest, longest days of their lives and I’m always so honored to partner with them.

First of all, this baby in his little baby overalls was enough to put my ovaries into overdrive. 😩

Second, his name is Marshall and his big brother is Hank Jr (see fourth pic).🥹

That’s it. That’s the post. 🤎

It seems redundant to pull together any thoughts about the ending of SNAP benefits that don’t feel like screaming into a void or echo chamber.

And still, it feels wrong to not say anything at all.

So on this Election Day, I’m leaning into the things I still believe to be true about humankind, spoken by some who were themselves, well acquainted with darkness and despair. But also, hope. 🤍

HOCO 2025 ✨ We had a house full of laughs, music, energy drinks, so many perfumes and colognes!!- debriefing sessions, and not nearly enough sleep.

It’s true that the good ol’ days- in the moment- will feel chaotic and exhausting. There were moments in the midst of the insanity when I forced myself to stop and soak it in, because I can already sense the way I’ll look back on these moments. So I may be dragging myself into the week ahead on fumes and strong coffee, but I’m also just really grateful for all of it (and the fact that they still let me snap a few pictures, too. 🤍)

Sharing a peek at yet another senior session for a kiddo who’s been in my orbit for more than a decade now. 🥹 Anna spent a majority of her high school years rowing, so we chased the light around Church Hill and then ended with sunset at Rockett’s Landing.

There’s an alchemy in doing sessions near water- even more so when it’s the very current that carried you through high school. I’m so honored that Anna wanted to bring me to the place that holds so much joy for her. 🤍

This June, Lens of Hope is honoring the stories of resilience, identity, and hope in our LGBTQIA+ community through a series of portraits and projects. All sessions are offered on a sliding scale to ensure access for all: Pay what you can. Pay it forward if you can. If there’s a financial need, sessions can be fully covered.

Who needs to be seen? Would you like a simple portrait of you as you are right now or with your chosen family/partner/best friend? Maybe you have a personal story you’re ready to share, or words that you wish you could tell your younger self. I would be honored to hold this space with you.

Half of all June’s project proceeds will be donated to .

Your voice matters.
Your love matters.
Your story matters.
You matter.
Every month.

What would you tell the younger version of yourself, if you had the chance? These sessions are a space for healing, reflection & celebration.
