For the last few years, I’ve been questioning myself as an artist and as a 36 year old woman. Am I too old to “model”, even if it’s only for myself? Am I too old to be relevant as a photographer in this world of ever-changing social media? Are my photos even relatable anymore? But sometimes, as women, we have to pave the way for others. I will always keep being authentic to myself. I will always keep creating, even if no one understands. Because, honestly, the alternative to that just sounds miserable. I refuse to fit inside someone else’s box. I’ve got my own box and it travels all over the world without any restrictions. 💝

I recently put together a list of 15 Must-See Photo Spots in Japan, mostly because I’ve been feeling an urge to organize every single aspect of my life into lists, but also because I’m desperate to take a trip back to Japan. It was my favorite trip I’ve ever taken, and also the most relaxing. We saw so many things and visited so many places, but I never felt rushed or stressed. It was just the most magical place. My sister and I are in talks of visiting again next year, so here’s to hoping that comes to fruition! 🍓

You can find my travel recommendations for Japan up on my blog if you’re in the midst of planning (or considering) a trip! Just follow the link below to read more. 😊

I still dream about my trip to Japan daily. It was such a magical, memorable, beautiful country. It surprised me in so many different ways. I remember everything vividly too, probably because it was unlike any other country I’ve visited. It was as though Japan was my long lost sister. I felt so

Up on the blog today - a full roll of Lomography Berlin Kino 400 120 film with the Contax 645. This film is super grainy and cinematic. It's always nice to journey back to using black and white film. These days, I typically use color film always and then convert my images to black and white, just so I have the option. But there is something truly special about using black and white film.

My favorite season is officially here! 🍁🌕👻🍁I spent the summer working on growing my blogging business and I’ve been learning so much. Blogging is the perfect blend of photography and writing, and I love that it’s something that I can continue to grow over time. Now that wedding season is picking up, it’s nice that I can focus on that and work on my blog when I have the time. I’ve really been attempting to scale back the stress in my life and notice what brings me happiness. I was reading something recently about being in your 30s and how common it is to feel somewhat lost. But if you pay close to attention to the people, places, and things that you enjoy, and spend more time existing in those spaces, you’ll begin reconnecting with yourself and finding out who you are again. It’s honestly been so helpful to think of it that way.

Woke up to the sweetest review of my book on BookBub. 🖤 One of my biggest fears when releasing my book was whether or not complete strangers would be able to relate to it. I knew my friends and family would support me, but getting 5-star reviews from people who don’t know me at all is something entirely different. I know how much work I put into this book and how long it took me to get up the courage to share it. The hardest part about this whole process has been focusing on promoting it and getting it the attention it deserves. I’m so used to moving onto the next thing and anxiously creating more, more, more. But I’m trying my best to pause and share this creation, because I know that it has the potential to help and heal others. ✨

“This might be the best memoir I've ever read. Vulnerable, raw and honest, it was an inspiring read that made me feel connected to the world around me. I recommend it 100%, especially to those who struggle with mental illness.”
