First enjoy your engagement. You do not have to start planning everything immediately.

Then start here:
Decide what season you want to get married in or, if the season doesn’t matter, start exploring venues you love.

Set a realistic budget before you start booking.

Make a rough guest list so you know what size venue you actually need.

Once you find your venue, lock in your date.
Then start booking the vendors that matter most to you.

Save this for when the wedding planning officially starts 🤍

5 things that ARE worth spending the money on for your wedding 👏🏼

📸 A reputable photographer that fits your style, because these are the photos you’ll look back on for years.
Don’t just book based on price; make sure you actually love the way they capture a wedding day.

📋 A coordinator because you, your mom & your bridesmaids shouldn’t be working your wedding day.

🍽️ A caterer you trust, good food, enough food, and a team that knows how to serve your guest count smoothly.

💒 The right venue, pretty is great, but make sure it actually works for your day.

🍸 And of course… an Experienced bartender, good drinks, smooth service & no one wants to spend the night standing in a bar line.

Save where you can, but spend on the things that actually make the day better. 👏🏼

Again, these are just my opinions 👀

1. Custom drink stirrers
Cute? Yes. Necessary? Probably not.

2. Handwritten guest books!
They’re beautiful, but many guests forget to sign them. Choose something you’ll actually enjoy looking back on.

3. Late-night snacks (if your reception ends around 9–10 PM)
Most guests are heading home, not looking for another meal.

4.Ordering favors for every guest!
You’d be surprised how many get left behind. Order fewer than your guest count.

5. A champagne toast for every seat!
Instead, let guests grab champagne from the bar if they want it. It cuts waste and saves money.

Don’t come for me 😂 Every couple is different, and if you’ve always dreamed of one of these, go for it! But after working over 100 weddings, these are a few areas where I’d save money and put it toward something guests will remember.
