Story time: I was asked to take pictures for my cousin's prom. I haven't taken more than a few backyard bird shots in over a year. I was so excited that I charged my camera battery and reformatted my memory card the day before the shoot. Saturday, I left home early to scout out locations. I even stopped by Walmart to picknup some wooden letters of their school initials. After arriving at the meeting location, I introduced myself to his friend and got right to taking photos. Y'all.... it was going great and then the mom asked to view some of the family pics. I happily removed the camera strap from my neck, turned the screen for her to view and hit play. What we were both greeted with were the words "no card in camera".
My heart sank. I felt 2 inches tall. Standing there feeling dumb, I had to hurriedly apologize and fly out of there to go purchase a card. I wasn't gone long but it felt like eternity. Needless to say, they were very gracious and still there when I returned. (Sigh of relief) I wondered for a moment if she tought I cut and run. Lol
So, note to self, when transferring photos to your PC before you reformat, make sure to put it back in the camera.
