Well, it has been a while! I have not had a working studio for several years; had tried to work in my garage or in a spare bedroom. But since we made a move to a larger home, I now actually have a studio! I am rusty! Art is like music, you must practice to be any good. So I started with a landscape. A field of poppies, which turned out great. Then I attempted a portrait, which proved a lot harder. I finally got a result I liked although I am still going to work to get my drawing skills up to par. I will keep practicing this portrait, much to re-learn! These are both water soluble oil on canvas. I have made the switch, and I love them. Easy clean up and no fumes! Working on a still life now. I am so happy to be painting again!
