Safety is a huge concern for women coming to do a bo***ir session- understanablly so.
At Sacketts Brook Bo***ir we’re all ladies. Myself, the hair and make up artist, I even use an all female business to produce and create your images and albums.
The studio offers a private entrance from the parking lot. Clients are scheduled so that there’s no chance of overlap. Your session is all about you, and you shouldn’t have to worry about anything.

I suppose it is time I introduced myself.

I’m Heather, the proprietress of Sacketts Brook Bo***ir.

Until now, I’ve been content to let the studio and its photographs do the talking. I’ve always been more comfortable behind the camera than in front of it, but I can appreciate wanting to know a little about the person you’ll be spending an afternoon with.

Before opening Sacketts Brook, I spent more than two decades working in public safety and medicine. I’ve met people from just about every walk of life, often under less than ideal circumstances. What I’ve always enjoyed, regardless of the setting, is getting to know people. I’m interested in their stories, their perspectives, and the things that make them who they are.

Bo***ir photography may seem an unlikely next chapter, but I’m genuinely excited about it. Photography has been an interest of mine for years, and building a studio of my own has given me the opportunity to entertain my creative side while continuing to do something I enjoy: meeting people and getting to know them beyond a passing introduction.

Sacketts Brook reflects much of what I appreciate: beautiful surroundings, thoughtful details, a welcoming atmosphere, and the chance to do something a little out of the ordinary.

What do you get the person who’s impossible to shop for?

Something they can’t buy for themselves.

A custom bo***ir album is personal, unexpected, and made especially for them.

It’s the kind of gift they won’t see coming. And they certainly won’t find it on a store shelf.

But this isn’t a last minute Christmas Eve kind of gift. Your session, image selection, album design, and production all take time.

Book in October for your November session to ensure your album is wrapped and waiting under the tree.

I was chatting with a woman yesterday while meeting with local businesses. She said she had been thinking about bo***ir but wasn't sure. I asked her what was stopping her. She said "I don't have a man, or the body." We talked about how having a partner to gift the product of a session to wasn't a reason to do bo***ir. And that every single kind, type and shape of body can most certainly do bo***ir.

After this meeting I continued about my day with that conversation heavy on my mind. I assume the majority of women share these same sentiments. And that makes my heart heavy. As a business woman my goal is to sell the experience. But as a leftover 90's feminist, empowerment of self, and the notion to take up space without permission are core to my identity and the identity of my business.

My point being, that you don't NEED to be anything but yourself to "qualify" for bo***ir. You don't NEED a reason beyond- because you want to.

But I know some of you still need a reason. So let me help you with that.

New brides can gift their groom an album as the groom gift. I'm loving the trend of drive by schmexy pictures to the groom from the bride, delivered by the bridesmaids. (Gents, this works the other way too). Birthdays. Milestone birthdays like 21, 25, 30, 50, 60. New body. As we age our body changes. Pregnancy (just saying maternity bo***ir is gorgeous!), post partum, weight gain, weight loss, perimenopause, menopause. Anniversaries. Graduation. Promotion.

The list is endless. It may be, that the best reason is just because.
