It’s one of those nights when you just SIT.
Sit and think about the last four years.
Sit and wonder about all the “what ifs?” and the “what now’s?”
Sit back and ponder about all the amazing memories- the highs and the lows.
Sit and realize that it was all SO wonderful!
So wonderful to watch, cry about, pray about, and just FEEL!
Today as I watched you bat for the last time, I listened to your teammates cheer you on and heard family & friends yell your name in the stands. I was completely overcome with emotion. 😭 I tried to take it ALL in. I paid attention to the little details and worried less about all the big things. Like the way you take a practice swing and hit your sliding mitt in your back pocket every time, the way you hold your bat and pause for a few seconds as you walk into the batters box, the bleached tipped hair hanging out from your helmet you beg for every year, and the profile of your face when you turn to get a signal from the coach.
I know I won’t ever get to watch you play baseball on a high school field again, be the one to take your picture as you leave for a dance date, or watch you compete for a high school trophy, but I’ll ALWAYS be rooting for you as you face challenges and make big decisions in your life!
Basketball season ended. Baseball season is now over. Graduation is quickly approaching. You’ll soon be leaving to serve a mission in Texas. But- always remember I’m still here. I’m still your mother & I’ll always be your biggest hype girl! I love you so, so very much! 🤟🏻
