The Coach C Cat Daddy Report
🏈CMFL Kickoff Edition🏈
Written by Coach C - SemiPro GameDay
The offseason is OVER, and we're back!!! After all the ups and downs and commitment flips, it is finally time to play some football! It is Week 1, and everyone, as of now, is in the hunt. Will the elites of last year reassert themselves, or will a new challenger rise up to challenge for the 13th CMFL Championship? Who will coast? Who will receive a 🥋 on Sunday? And who is on Upset Watch? We shall see! And now, finally... let's get to the games!

#8 Kansas City Bulldogs at Kansas Diamondbacks
The Bulldogs are coming into 2026 with the majority of their pieces from 2025's high-flying offense, led by QB Marc Hernandez and OL Kody Broyles.
The word on the streets is that the Diamondbacks have put together a great group, mainly on defense. ATH Anthony Jackson and company have their work cut out for them in this one. I'm taking the Road Dogs.
🔮Coach C - 28-14 Bulldogs
Coach JB - 32-6 Bulldogs
#7 Missouri Cyclones at Oklahoma Hawks
The Clones travel down to Grove to face a hungry Hawks team. It is still unknown what they can do in the passing game, but the duo of new QB/ATH Jacob Bruce and RB Cameron Salim may present some issues in the run game.
But the Clones and the Grown Man Defense will be up to the challenge behind that dominant defensive line and linebacking corps. The key matchup here will be if the Hawks can contain Cyclones stud RB Cliff Chandler and keep up with that speedy receiving corps led by Bobbie Scott and Buron Bell. Hope the Hawks got they money ready and I heard they don't mind taking EBT either, 'cuz THE RENT IS DUE! I'm taking the Clones!
🔮Coach C - 24-6 Cyclones
Coach JB - 18-6 Cyclones
Arkansas Warcats at #5 St. Louis Falcons
In what could be a sneaky good game, the Warcats look to avenge last year’s Greenland Massacre, as the Falcons earned their 🥋 in a beatdown.
This year may be different, as the Warcats are coming with numbers and a better all-around core group of players. But the Falcons are LOADED, led by star QB Justin Baker, who will be able to do as he pleases in this one. This could get like Mrs. Netta... flat-out ugly. I'm taking the Falcons.
🔮Coach C - 49-21
Coach JB - 40-0
#3 Tulsa Gators at Columbia Vipers
The Vipers host a loaded Gators team in their opener at the new Snake Pitt at Westminster College. Early reports are that the Vipers are young but talented. Stud RB Bo Davidson will have to carry the load and make things happen. But with star QB Kendall Holmes and 2025 MVP Dylan Chinn already rocking... this one won't be close. The Gators will be SWIMMIN'!!!
🔮Coach C - 42-14
Coach JB - 35-12
#9 ECMO Eagles at #6 Joplin Crusaders
In what could possibly be an upset for a reloaded Eagles team, an angry Crusaders team welcomes the challenge. The Eagles will be without the Nation's Best Kept Secret, QB Toni Pisoni, so 2025 CMFL Offensive Player of the Year RB Justus Pedrero will have to make something happen, along with that overhauled defense led by LB Cody Willis and S Tommy Hemmer. But man, oh man, they may have their work cut out for them going against "The Fastest Show on Turf," aka the Joplin offense. If the Crusaders don't turn it over, this shouldn't be close. What ya goin' do when the Cru comes for you?!?!?
🔮Coach C - 38-8 Crusaders
Coach JB - 35-6 Crusaders
🚨Upset Alert🚨
#2 Kansas City Panthers at #10 Wichita Skyhawks
This game is gonna be a good ol' knock-'em-down, drag-out fist fight. The Black Kats will be missing star QB Julious Sabastiano and stud RB Malik Nesbitt, so that alone makes this very interesting. Word on the street is that the Skyhawks have received reinforcements by way of the ICT Ducks, a talented team out of Wichita, joining the Skyhawks.
Oh my!!!
The first team past 14 points will win this one. The Skyhawks are healthy and ready to roll. This could be, and will be, an ugly game. But the Black Kats have two things in their favor: the Black Kat Defense and the Lunch Line 2.0. If they can somehow contain Skyhawks star WR Gary Jolivet Jr., they have a chance. Panthers CBs Xanthanus Pierro and Dee Neighbors will have to get it done for this to go their way.
But interesting stat: Panthers backup QB Beshar Turner is undefeated as a starter. The streak continues. Panthers in Fo'!
🔮Coach C - 24-12 Panthers
Coach JB - 12-6 Skyhawks
🚨Upset Alert🚨
CMFL National Game of the Week
#1 Oklahoma Bears at #4 St. Joe Bucks
The National Game of the Week pits the defending champs, the Oklahoma Bears, against what appears to be a loaded St. Joe Bucks team. The Bears have added some pieces, namely ATHs Jalil Ward and Tyrone Johnson Jr., to an already deep squad. I'm not sure if star LB TJ Austin will be available, but LBs Tyrone Elix and LeAndre Turner are ready to get the job done.
This group has a nasty taste in their mouth, and the Detroit Ravens poked the Bear in Florida. Now, fresh from hibernation, the Bears look ready to feast on the Bucks. The Bears have beaten the Bucks three straight times. Will it be four straight?
BUT NOT SO FAST, MY FRIEND!
The Bucks look primed for takeover behind the play of QB1 Keante Green and Agent Zero RB Austin White. The receiving corps is loaded, and the defense added some new additions, especially in that secondary, so the Bucks are playing with house money in this one. It will be loud in St. Joe, and the Bucks are playing for more than just a win now. This game once again has all the makings of an upset.
If the Bucks' O-line can protect Green and they don't turn it over, this may swing the game in their favor. If the Bears don't travel like they did in their last meeting in St. Joe... they could be facing back-to-back Ls. HO-LEE SMOKES!!!!!
So, with that being said... I'M TAKING THE UPS—AHT AHT AHT, BABY, GIMME MY COACH COX SHADES!!!!
Until someone proves it, the champs are still the champs! I'm taking Da Bears!!!!!
🔮Coach C - 27-17
Coach JB - 28-14 Bears
